Re: Liver mets are back; what’s next….

There has been a few incidents in my mum’s long medical history dealing with this disease where we had to become proactive and get our elbows out as her team were not on board for surgery . Both for the liver and her lung but other clinicians were open to it when approached . We are in the U.K. so p...

Re: Liver mets are back; what’s next….

Hi , Definitely seek other clinical opinions from liver specialist. My mum had a very quick recurrence. Four liver mets plus regrowth at the resection margin . They gave her more chemo then took away 73% of her liver . That was back in 2010 and that organ remains clear . Hope she gets a good plan in...

Re: STAGE IV RC GUYS AND GALS

Please don’t apologise. Some parts of treating cancer as a chronic condition requires some deep digging to endure from what I have seen my mum endure . I do hope some of it eases for you soon .
I really do !

Re: Phase 1 trial.

I for one am holding out that the CEA drop is reflective of the cancer being reduced .
I will look forward to hearing how you get on .
You take care ,

Re: Phase 1 trial.

That’s a good result to me ! Stability is always welcome especially if the treatment is kind .
The drop in CEA is very interesting.
Have you had that type of drop on other treatments.?

Re: Olymphians

I was around way back when Starbucks was active on the board . The other thing to remember , everything was very different back then . Even the scans where only able to detect tumours at a certain size . Treatments like immunotherapy were not around or approved like they are now . A lot of patients ...

Re: New here, seeking info/advice: 41yo stage 4 CRC, mets to 3 sites

Hi , Sorry I can’t answer your questions but just wanted to say I hope the chemo works well for your husband . It sounds a similar funding approach to the U.K. . However my mum has only used Cap tablets and Oxaliplatin. She responded extremely well to it . That allowed other approaches to be added i...

Re: Back after 10 years... recovering from surgery for cecal bascule, with a question

Thank you Claudine . He lived a full and very happy life . That gives me great comfort . He had such a tough few weeks but I keep reminding myself that his health was good for the majority of his life . I am seeing such a difference in mum . Getting a bit stronger and forging ahead getting nutrition...

So sorry you can’t get to your concert . But I did get caught out once at a concert having not realised cough sweets are full of artificial sweeteners . Big mistake and never wanted home so much in all my life .

Re: Back after 10 years... recovering from surgery for cecal bascule, with a question

Oh thank you . I am going to share these posts with her . That will give her such a boost . I am a bit pained for her as they had stopped scanning over covid and I do wonder if this could have been nipped in the Bud . However she is where she is and focusing on regaining her strength and independenc...

Re: Back after 10 years... recovering from surgery for cecal bascule, with a question

Oh thank you roadrunner! Dad passed peacefully last week . It’s been sad with mum so sick but we got her home and trying to build her back up . Juggling pain killers and bowels is tricky indeed . Missing dad so much. Caught up in the arrangements and endless notifications at the moment . Grateful fo...
