Re: Chemotherapy Sensitivity and Resistance Assays

I started with 5-FU in March 2016. Switched to Capcetabine in August 2016 so I could go back to work. Hospitalized in October 2016 for systemic yeast infection of my port for 20 days. First normal CEA 2.3 in same month. Taken off of Chemo. CEA begins escalating in January 2017. Monitored through Ap...

Re: New on the forum

Hi! I am still waiting the results of CAT scan of whole body, today I got fed up and called several numbers, but nobody can tell me whether the situation is stable or not. I had the scan on the 7th of Maj  But at least they scheduled my reversal for the 4th of June, I guess they will tell me ...

Re: Scan results not what I had hoped for ... Update with UCSF

I met with Dr. Korn at UCSF this morning. He was very reassuring and said the new CT is not a confirmed progression in his opinion but definitely a heads up and gave me a game plan. He thinks my timing is good to look ahead especially since I’m healthy otherwise and would make a good trial candidate...

Re: Mop up chemo experiences

Great travel tips, OSM! For anyone who has future travel plans I would also recommend applying for TSA precheck. The cost is reasonable and valid for 5 years, my credit card reimbursed the cost to me. It made security a breeze, no scanner... no additional questions or screening... just the metal det...

Re: Scan results not what I had hoped for ...

Sorry you're going through this Shana. Have you had genetic testing done? It may help you out with narrowing the scope of which trials you want to look at. I think it usually takes a couple of weeks, so you might want to ask your onc about it. Hi Phuong and thank you! I had the UCSF 500 genetic tes...

Re: Scan results not what I had hoped for ...

Shana, I am very sorry you got this news. Strength in mind and body have to count for something. Your posts of support mean a lot to all of us. Hope me can do the same for you. American Cancer Society got us inexpensive rooms when we went in for doctor's appointments as the traffic makes it so hard...
