Re: Erectile Dysfunction Due To Pelvic Radiation

You guys are very lucky to have each other, Claudine. I wish you the best. Thank you. Learning on Monday that DH is risking quadriplegia from all the radiation his spine has received, and today that he's got a new met in a lymph node, that's a lot. But we'll keep on plodding on. Right now he's look...

Isolated common iliac lymph node metastasis?

Here's a new one for us! DH had a PET scan yesterday and this one popped up - 5.4 SUV, node measures 7mm. Everything else is clear/stable. From what I read it's extremely rare (but not unheard of) in colorectal cancer. Waiting to hear back from onc on this, but from what I can read, laparoscopic res...

Re: Erectile Dysfunction Due To Pelvic Radiation

I was quite concerned about this potential issue when my husband had pelvic radiation last year (not that I would stop loving him. But I know he would have taken it very, very hard - no pun intended...). So far so good. But he's now suffering from delayed radiation sacro-lumbar plexopathy (all this ...

Re: Some advice needed

He has kras g12d and has only used folfox previously. We believe he’ll be changing to 2nd line. Just seeking some advice, do you think systemic control first is better than trying to battle to get surgery or radiotherapy now? Hi Bianca, I've posted this several times in previous threads, but my hus...

Re: Have a great summer everyone!

I would definitely avoid larger cities (especially Marseille in the South). I transited through Paris this past weekend but it was ok, except for train delays. Cows in our small village in the Jura Mountains are not rioting so far :)

Have a great summer everyone!

I haven't been present very much lately - Riki's passing hit me quite hard, and I needed to distance myself from cancer-related things (well, as much as possible). We're off to France for 6 weeks on Wednesday; DH's back is still a mess, but things are stable cancer-wise (he had an MRI last Tuesday)....

I feel like you're not of the most optimistic nature, pfccr, but these news ought to give you a positive boost! That's terrific that the treatment is working so well for you :D :D :D

Re: ever feel this way?

I think everyone has moments like this, pete305 (and this is NOT a bad topic!). I know my husband has; it's mentally and physically exhausting to recover briefly from a recurrence, feel like you're on the upswing again, only to be clobbered by the next one. Whenever he visits his onc, he expects to ...

Re: mCRC Stage IV mets to LV and LN - what can we do more?

This awful disease - there seem to be no logic to it, no obvious rhyme or reason, why it takes some so fast and not others, despite all their fight and efforts. I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Wishing you and yours much strength for the days ahead XXXXX

Re: CT scan

Meanwhile I work out daily and drink wine daily… Haha cheers to that! I know my husband would 100% agree with your decision. We made travel plans for the summer, leaving the US on June 28, even though he's got a control MRI on the 20th. He had one last week that showed no progression and his cancer...

Re: A Brother's Heartfelt Plea: Seeking Guidance and Support for Metastatic Colon Cancer Journey

Welcome to the forum; it is a great source of information. A diagnosis like this is like getting the earth vanishing from under one's feet, but with time, it does get better. How did you or your loved one cope with the emotional and physical challenges of metastatic colon cancer and its treatment? I...

Re: Resources, costs and economics

That's a very informative discussion; UtahGal7, good to know about Medicaid! We're fortunate to have very good insurance - our maximum out-of-pocket cost is $8000/year, it's not hard to reach (we're all on the same insurance, including our 2 young adult children who've been prone to break limbs, ha)...

Also, nice to read that LARS may continue to improve over time. It’s been 6 months since DH’s reversal and his life is still definitely tied to the toilet :(

Re: Any avid runners with a ureteral stent?

Hi Deha50, very different situation for us but some parallels - my husband was an avid skier but that’s part of the past now, with his compromised spine and handicapped right leg. Fortunately his main passion is cycling, which he can still do. When he had his ileostomy pouch, he found a nice belt th...
