Re: How long until you see light at the end of the tunnel?

Not sure if this will help or not but we took a sheet of paper, counted all the way from 168 to 0, and checked a box every single day. We'd fly through them on non-chemo days, and they would seem to pass a little slower while DH was in treatment. At the end, we took a photo and burned the damn thing.

Re: Scanxiety long and drawn out this time. March/ April people?

Hi Diane, That sounds really stressful, and I'm sorry you're having those symptoms. I've read what you've written here in the past, and on other forums, and you really maintain a remarkable attitude and take excellent care of yourself. It seems (to me, at least) that you're doing everything you can ...

Re: Newly diagnosed 28 female

Hi---I'm really sorry you're here. Do you have a support system around you? Someone who can take notes, make copies, contact insurance, work on apts, etc. I only say this because when my DH was diagnosed, he was completely stunned aka a completely normal reaction. Shock can take a lot out of you, an...

It's the reverse lottery. Congratulations! You're the 5 in a million.

My husband read that and said, Eff this and let's buy some lottery tickets.

Re: Just Diagnosed. 19-24 lymphs. Need advice

Hi there, This is so hard. You're stunned. You get the news, and then you need surgery, and then you need chemo. It is very hard to put one foot in front of the other, at least it was for my husband. You need to push really hard to get that port put in, now, and get chemo started as soon as you're m...

Terrific article. 20 years as a researcher, wow. Thanks for all that you've done, and continue to do, to find a cure.

Re: Help for my husband diagnosed 9/16/16 Stage III?

fwiw, I really think you should feel, and express, whatever on earth you want. This is your life and whatever you need to do to get through this, and cope, are your prerogative. This diagnosis is so hard. We think about our futures, and then those words come out, and it just sucks the air out of the...

Wow, so we got some news today. DH's CEA dropped for the first time since he finished chemo in March, to 2.0 and his CT today was clean. I still feel like I'm drifting above my body. 13 months NED!

Thanks lpas. I've noticed your signature on several occasions. I did look up those other two members and that was very helpful. Back before I posted, I saved a former thread on the topic. It's one of the few I've seen where someone mentions the CEA creeping up yet remains NED: http://coloncancersupp...

Re: CEA climbing but still normal, CT negative

Hi Pita, I don't know which method they use, but I'll ask the next time we're there. "Normal" for this lab value is less than 3.8. After I wrote this post in September, we emailed his surgeon in NY and he said, don't worry, really. So we did a reasonably good job of forgetting about it for...
