Re: Sometimes I just want a day off from all of this...

Hi Shana, I feel that way everyday, wishing cancer wasn't the center of my life. It's been almost 3 years, 72 chemo treatments and now radioembolization on my liver this week. It is emotionally and physically exhausted. My family is exhausted of it too, though they don't express it as much. For a wh...

Re: Any Chemo Lifers? Incurable Stage 4

Hi all, I'm heading to chemo 71 tomorrow, having my blood work today to check CEA as well as prep for my liver radioembolization I will have later this week. I agree being a chemo lifer sucks, I have looked into surgical options, and with Mets to multiple organs, unfortunately, I am not a candidate....

Re: Any Chemo Lifers? Incurable Stage 4

Thank you Big Rob for your response. Wow, my CEA is at 170 now, and ranges around 130 and up. By your signature line, does it mean you have not had chemo for over a year and your numbers keep dropping!?! If so, that is inspiring!! I'm so happy for you!

Any Chemo Lifers? Incurable Stage 4

Hello all, I apologize I haven't been active here, but I have been an active warrior fighting for almost three years, diagnosed Stage 4 with Mets to my liver, lung, mediastinum and lymph nodes. I had a colon resection for primary tumor and lymph nodes. I have had 70 rounds to date of recommended che...

Re: VANITY hair issue help from you ladies please

Hi there, The Hair thing...I've done 47 rounds of chemo, from FOLFOX, to 5FU/Avastin maintenance, Opdivo immunotherapy, and now Irinotecan and Vectibix, and now my hair is shedding like a dog and has thinned significantly. I didn't think hair would matter so much, but it really does. I've bought wig...

Re: Ugh Folfiri is not my friend...

So sorry to hear you not tolerating the Folfiri. I am on Irinotecan and Vectibix. I did Folfiri 1x and also had to have I V hydration, uncontrollable nausea and vomiting. I had done 5Fu and Avastin for 38 rounds and 5FU it was no longer working. Now without the 5FU it is much more tolerable, plus I'...

Re: Inoperable Stage IVs

Hi All, I'm an inoperable stage 4...I was diagnosed with colon cancer 10/14, which was surgically resected because I was completely blocked. It was a successful surgery and no colostomy. However, I have mets to my liver, lungs and mediastinal lymph nodes. The reason for being inoperable is because t...

Re: Who are the longest stage 4 survivor's on here?

So happy and congrats to all of these amazing Stage 4 survivors. I am only 7 months into my battle, but I hope to report many years survival just like you all. If anyone sees this, do any of you with multiple mets to multiple places? I have mets to lung, liver and mediastinal lymph nodes? On chemo i...

Thank you for the comment. I've discovered that we find inner strength when we need to. Being brave is just being human. Fight the battle as best you can and you are brave. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your two little ones too!

The Thief...

Hello all, I am new to this forum as a Stage IV Colon Cancer Warrior. At 48 years old, I was diagnosed in October 2014, and had emergent colon resection. One of the things I realized right away was that it was difficult to find other Stage IV warriors fighting their cancer. I know we are part of a u...
