Re: CRC FELLOWS WITH LIVER METS - GO 2 SLOAN PLEASE

Great news!
Sloan is a life saver for my husband. Follow-up Ct scan clear and CEA blood work December normal(1.4).
I haven't been on in a while, but my husband is doing really well, thanks to Dr. Kingham.

Re: MSKCC in Nj

Yes indeed! We live 5 minutes away from new facility. Construction is underway, and from what we've heard, its slated to open fall of 2016. It will also cut down on time and money travelling back and forth to the city. MSKCC welcome to the suburbs.

Re: MSKCC- Surgery....Finally!

Hi Jalusa, Hai pump is for colon cancer that has spread to ONLY liver. My husband had a positive adrenal gland biopsy, so initially Dr. said my husband didn't meet parameters. After 7 cycles of chemo, adrenal gland was "clean". Our surgeon spoke directly to Dr. K and since his burden of ca...

Re: MSKCC- Surgery....Finally!

Hi, My husband came home today after his 10 hour surgery on May 20th. In a nutshell, first 2 hours of surgery, the Dr. had to biopsy multiple nodules in his omentum. Luckily, they were not positive for active cancer. Consensus was the previous chemo killed it. Plan changed, no HAI pump, but rest of ...

MSKCC- Surgery....Finally!

Hi all, My husband is having surgery at Sloan on Wednesday, May 20th. I find reading the posts and hearing of good news from many, very helpful in trying to manage expectations. Right lobe liver resection, left adrenal gland excision, and left colon resection... all in one. Oh, don't forget HAI pump...

Portal vein emolization and HAI pump

I follow these posts almost everyday! I find info and most importantly hope. Just throwing a few questions out here.. Has anyone had a portal vein embolization? And if so how did you manage side effects? Since my husband's procedure April 8th, low grade fevers, nausea, abdominal pain. Drs. say it's ...

Re: So is this normal after only one infusion of Oxi?

My husband has finished his 4th cycle with oxi. Each time he gets the tingling/pain in his hands and feet from the cold. He states it subsides about 5 days after the pump comes off. We keep his beverages at room temp and he wears gloves before he reaches into fridge. When it first happened he was ne...

Re: Really impressed with MSKCC

Hi fellow MSKCC warriors, I am new to this group, but already find it so informative and hopeful. My otherwise healthy 45 yr old husband was dx 10/31/14, stage IV, adenocarcinoma sigmoid colon. 4 liver mets. We too went MSKCC, met with Dr. Kingham(liver) and Dr. Weisner(colon). Initially scheduled f...

Hi all, I am the wife of a newly dx stage IV cc-warrior. My 45 yr old husband was dx on 10-31-14. Adenocarcinoma sigmoid, with 4 liver mets in right lobe. We met with Drs at Sloan Kettering. Initially scheduled for 70% liver resection along with HAi pump insertion and colon resection, day before Tha...
