Quick question on clustering: what exactly causes it? Like what is going on inside when say, there's normal BM's (like your everyday normal looking poop), and then clustering, and then back to normal all in the span of a day (or 2)? If it's the muscles, why does it work sometimes and not others to f...
Cheers tammylayne! Thank you for the kind words. We very much hope that he is a forever resident of NEDVILLE as well :) :D I just had to post an update as I know we were feeling so down for so long, or so it felt (I can't tell you how many boxes of Depends, jars of Tucks, boxers thrown away there wa...
Thanks for bumping! Wanted to quickly update on my husband (the past few posts of mine are on the previous page). He is now about 10 months post-reversal and doing great. Things were up and down until a few weeks ago. We tried to keep food logs but it was really hard to remember and he went through ...
Wanted to follow up as well, just in case anyone else might have this situation and finds this in a search...turns out, at least for now, it seems the pain was too many Imodium's (thanks Justin and BS)! Our nurses said to take 1-2 with each meal post-reversal, and I suppose that was the need early o...
Pain pills tend to add to the problems associated w/abdominal pain/cramping due to the constipating factor & they don't help anyway w/that type of pain. Just so you understand, one can still have what appears to be normal bowel movements & still have an impaction higher up. This can result ...
My husband is on ADAPT too and started it about a year ago prior to resection alongside radiation. Granted I can't say for sure what the reasons were (causation vs correlation?) but while on ADAPT, he did see shrinkage in both the primary and 3 liver tumors. Surgery then showed nothing cancerous in ...
Thank you everyone. I hope the same for your mom, eleven11!! We really are cautiously optimistic and are just relieved there wasn't anything else found. Also happy to have continued hope in ADAPT...that was a big part that was scary...if it wasn't working...then what? New port? Back to intravenous? ...
I just wanted to update. We had scans again this week and there was no change in the spot. I guess that's good or bad, depending on how you look at it as it could signify it's not a met since there's no change, but if it is, it's bad that chemo isn't killing it! :) I guess all blood work and whatnot...
Thank you again everyone for your responses and reassurances. I had to take a little break from everything cancer related as we were getting overwhelmed and ahead of ourselves with the news and forgot to come back to update. So far CEA/CA 19-9 markers are stable for his last two blood draws. Not up ...
That is definitely a possibility. My husband just had a worse reaction to generic vs name brand, for whatever reason. He said he'll go for it again though if it cuts costs and just use extra lotion for his hands/feet etc to stay on top of cracks. We were just hoping to find a card since his hand-foo...
Hi again, So we just found out that the Genetech co-pay card for Xeloda has been cancelled. Apparently it happened in 2014 but they honored it through the year for folks currently using it. Their website still says its live, but when we called, they told us it's a no go. :( So anyway, now that it's ...
Wow, thank you all so, so much! This forum is such a wealth of knowledge!! I'll definitely reach out if I have more questions - seems like I should stick with Turbotax (everything else is really straight forward) so will start calling the hospitals to see if I can get the statements, check it agains...
Hi all, I had a quick question that maybe someone knows the answer to off the top of their head. I read that we can claim medical expenses here in the US on our tax form. Is this how much we paid in 2014? Like directly to the hospitals for charges and for prescriptions and to insurance? Basically an...
