Re: Stage 4 Survival stories

It is 10 years since my diagnosis and I've now been NED for 5 years and 10 months.
In 2006 I had LAR surgery and liver resection. Then in 2009 I had a recurrence in ovaries and in numerous pelvic lymph nodes. All of that was resected in March 2010.

Re: Thankful but still scared as hell

I so much understand your feelings and I just wanted to share my story that somehow resembles yours. It is 6 years since my recurrence in ovaries and multiple pelvic lymph nodes and 5 1/2 years since the surgery that removed it all. I am still NED after that last surgery. It was not HIPEC, just &quo...

Stage IV 9+ years. Now 5 years NED

When I had a recurrence in September 2009 I never thought I would reach where I am today, " 5 years NED". My last surgery was in March 2010 when mets in ovaries and mets in a number of pelvic lymph nodes where removed. The XELIRI treatment ended in July 2010. As part of my "5 years ex...

Re: Management of Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

Interesting article, you do not have to register to read it. I must say that I am thankful that it wasn't Dr Saltz that was my doctor, I do not think I would be alive today if so was the case. When patients have disease that is liver-dominant with isolated lung metastasis, the potential for cure sti...

Re: The cost of Zaltrap in US vs Sweden - ref CBS 60 minutes

Sanofi is a French drug company or actually a Franco-German company after the merging with Aventis. AstraZeneca is a British-Swedish drug company. Do the European drug companies finance their research by charging higher prices in USA, just because they can do that? Should we Europeans be thankful th...

The cost of Zaltrap in US vs Sweden - ref CBS 60 minutes

I read the article from CBS 60 minutes - The cost of cancer drugs. One reflection I made was that the same drug is so much more expensive in USA then in Sweden. Sanofi really has different pricing in different countries, for exactly the same drug. Here is a link to a document called "Zaltrap ma...

It is now three years and two months since I had surgery to remove mets in my ovaries and a number of pelvic lymph nodes. I've been NED since this surgery in March 2010. Here is a link to a post I wrote two and a half years ago with more detail of my cancer journey: http://coloncancersupport.coloncl...

Re: Stage 4 Survivors - Can you update us on your progress

I have been NED since March 2010. I was diagnosed in January 2006 and had both LAR surgery and liver resection that year as well as FOLFOX. Then a recurrence in October 2010 in ovaries and a number of pelvic lymph nodes. My wonderful surgeons did a great job with a very difficult surgery and I can h...

Re: Stage IV NED for 3 years, now Liver met, possible pelvic

Is surgery possible with this thing in pelvis? Is it possible to resect this pelvis thing? Would appreciate any opinions. Yes, surgery is possible for pelvic lymph nodes! Three years ago I did my last surgery which removed mets in my ovaries and mets in a number of pelvic lymph nodes. My scans a co...

6 years since liver surgery today – And Happy Thanksgiving

I just realized that today is the six year anniversary of my liver resection, and it is Thanksgiving day today! I would like to wish Happy Thanksgiving to all American “colonclubbers”. I’ve crossed the Atlantic 20+ times, I actually think that USA is the foreign country I’ve visited most, both for b...
