Re: A Rare Personal Post from DK37 - Treatment Plan Update

Just curious, since we seem to be on similar paths - why Irinotecan only? That is the drug from the devil for me, and ONC has reduced it by 40% over the last 2 treatments. He was telling me that the drug of choice for maintenance for me would be the 5FU. Good question - I have tried 5-FU + Avastin ...

Re: 5FU reactions?

This article is a little old, but as a person that experienced different, "rare", 5FU side effects, you might want to read it..

Sorry to hear of his passing. Another one taken too young. I really hate this.

Re: Contrast Dye question

Hi CRGuy, From what I understand, the contrast dye injector they used is under pressure designed to work sort of automatically with a power port....things didn't start leaking/flooding me until the cap blew off the IV line and from what the tech said, none of it went into me because he wasn't seeing...

Re: Contrast Dye question

So Connie, would that be sbrt round three? I feel like I have a little weeziness from mine. Do you have any side effects from it? Hell, at least it's only two! Right? Technically, yes, I guess. Last summer I had a a spot that came back after chemo and caused me rib pain (turns out, it broke the rib...

Re: Ct scans tomorrow . Update!

Glad your scans came back good, you seem to be putting up with enough stuff right now, you don't need that too. Just remember to take care of yourself, also.

Re: Contrast Dye question

Yeah Kenny, a couple of new spots, too small to biopsy (not that I'd bother), so we're "watching" them, next CT in May. Regular (chemoguy) oncologist says if the spots grow, he thinks we probably should go back to chemo and I think he's a fan of the " ***imabs" drugs which I've a...

Contrast Dye question

It contrast dye spills/leaks outside the body, such that you find yourself laying in it.......will the CT possibly detect any of the dye outside the body? Does anyone know?

Re: What to do?

Hi Kenny, I haven't been around much lately, it's been crazy here. Sorry to hear about the new "findings". Anyway, I see your second opinion led you to your answer. I'll just add that you're doing what I would do. Maybe the the CEA is an abberration. My CEA barely changes whether there's s...

Re: Anxiety attack. Stage 4 survivor stories needed

I understand the anxiety, seems our brains don't know when to shut the "F" up. I'll admit to using the occasional xanax to get to sleep (sometimes more often). It works for me and doesn't seem to cause any dependency or morning "hangover" in my case. I don't know if my signature ...
