Re: Starting Stivarga - advice?

As much as I will I suppose. My onc says I am different - that most people on it have been exposed to lots and lots of chemo. In the grand scheme of things I haven't had a lot. So his hope is a novel agent for me works. Time will tell..... I am doing ok with the 4 pills so far so that is good. A day...

Starting Stivarga - advice?

I am starting Stivarga tonight....cancer is all over my abdomen after 2 hipecs, Folfox and folfiri (failed). I have been waiting for a clinical trial but it is growing like crazy and making me sick. To manage tumor issues I am wearing a pain patch and an anti-nausea patch plus have an arsenal of med...

The Brooks half of Brooks and Dunn owns a vineyard with tasting room (gorgeous!) about 30-45 minutes south of the city. It is called Arrington Vineyards.

I was told there is a long wait list and I am better off staying in my spot in line for the other one.... So anyone interested needs to get your name in soon.

Re: Hi late night friends

I am up a lot at night with pain....can't stand the way narcos make me feel so I don't take them. Was on gabapentin then lyrica - neither one (plus ibuprofen) can give me a pain free night. Can you tell me how the patch works? Pain is in my tailbone and radiates down my right buttock and leg.

Re: Oxicodone

I don't remember having trouble when I took it regularly post surgery other than extreme dry mouth. No problem keeping hydrated with that reminder! The 2x I have taken it since at night when Motrin wasn't enough it took me almost an entire day to recover. I was tired, nauseous and overall icky. Stic...

Re: STIVARGA (Regorafenib) - ONGOING PATIENT EXPERIENCES

Ugh Ashlee so sorry to hear that. So crazy frustrating that chemo can kill us faster than cancer! Or a lack of chemo options... I am trying the trial route first - saving the dreaded Folfox as back up if I have lots of growth. Stigarvia was an option too but I would rather take a gamble at this poin...

Re: DH's liver resection aborted - so sad.

I have had hipec 2x and both time he also resected a met from my liver. Some drs don't do it but others do - research well. You want a physician who has lots of experience with hipec surgeries and a facility that does too. I can't say enough how much it helps to have nurses who know how this recover...

Re: HIPEC as early as next week?? Whaat!!! :)

I have had HIPEC twice - almost exactly a year apart. The first was with curative intent and we celebrated the fact all visible cancer was removed and my CEA was normal. 6m later the beast was back. Surgery #2 remove a lot of tumor but couldn't get it all....too much seeding on my small intestines. ...

Re: News on the 'other' anti PD-L1: Nivolumab. Immunotherapy

I am under consideration for this trial. I am MSS which means randomized doses of the 2 agents. My oncologist thought that was much better than monotherapy for what it is worth. Crossing fingers and toes and saying prayers this works for me. I don't have a lot of options left.
