Re: Who are the longest stage 4 survivor's on here?

It will be 11 years for me in August 2022. I had massive amounts of tumors in my liver and some in my lungs. I was 46 at the time and my oncologist gave me 12-22 months to live with treatment. I found Dr. Kemeny who saved my life with the HAI pump and you holistic thinking. And my new local oncologi...

Re: UPDATE: Rising CEA

Bob: Dr. Bernard Park, at Memorial Sloan Kettering did both of my thoracic surgeries. He is ABSOLUTELY amazing! As of today met CEA IS UNDER 1.0….thanks to Keytruda and (for the mutation that didn’t respond to the Keytruda) to Dr Bernard Parks. He did the surgery when no one else would. I am so than...

Re: to HAI or not ... anyone regret it ???

My liver tumors were all over my liver after I had what appeared to be a great response to chemo (the really large tumors in my liver shrunk greatly) but when they went in to resect what was left of the large tumors they found dozens and dozens of tiny tumors throughout my entire liver. The MDA surg...

Re: UPDATE: Rising CEA

Congratulations on the recovery and continued response to Keytruda. This brings to mind some research I've read in the last month or so concerning turning tumors that are infiltrated with immune cells and resistant to them had high activity of the gene monoamine oxidase A. This is the gene that pro...

UPDATE: Rising CEA

Sorry for the delay in updating. I know I always follow everyone's stories for many reasons...but mostly to be sure that they are okay and to better understand (at least antidotally) what options there are for different cancer situations. I ended up having a PET/CT scan that showed an enlarged and &...

Re: Rising CEA After 2 1/2 Years on Keytruda

Hi everyone...sorry to not bring news earlier. My PET showed an enlarged lymph node near my esophagus (the same one that was enlarged 2 years ago but that decreased to normal size and SUV right before I was scheduled to have it surgically removed. The Keytruda either killed the cancer that was growi...

Re: Rising CEA After 2 1/2 Years on Keytruda

Hi Cynthia, While CEA surges are scary they do not necessarily mean you have progression. CEA can flare up with inflammation. I guess you should get a CT scan as soon as possible to confirm or hopefully discard progression. Have you discussed this CEA increase with your oncologist? For what´s worth...

Rising CEA After 2 1/2 Years on Keytruda

Well after 2 1/2 years (with minor CEA rises slowly rising to 5.0 or 5.2 over several months and then dropping back down to 1.2 or lower—every year for the last 2 1/2 years during the winter months) my CEA now has now risen to 6.8. So I am so scared that this will be it. For the last 2 1/2 years I h...

Re: Good News!

I would call hospitals now to see what you need to do to get a second opinion there. I have been to MD Anderson, and a local cancer center (in Columbus Ohio where I live) and Memorial Sloan Kettering. I highly suggest contacting MSK....to get the ball rolling now.....the sooner you can get that othe...

Matt
Where are you being treated? Can you get a second opinion at Memorial Sloan Kettering if you aren’t already seen there?
