Re: Woman Donates Her Body To Cancer Research

Just so you know, I have a swollen lymph gland right now that has me on Fentanyl patches, Darvocet, and ibuprofen, so please don't downplay the pain that lymph nodes/glands can play. Thanks

Re: Low Platelets

Low platelets while on FOLFOX are not uncommon. I was rejected 3 or 4 times because of it. With low platelets you just have to wait it out. Usually they will rebound enough in one week; however, I was rejected two weeks in a row one time. Hope this helps.

Re: Does anyone else take xanax to sleep?

I take Trazodone and have for years because I have had a sleep disorder for a long time. It helps me sleep very well, at least for the first 5 hours. Then I toss and turn and finally get up about 2 hours after that. I have Ambien here but it does nothing for me.

Re: bradyr new brain mets

Gosh Brady, I am so very sorry to hear all of this. It's all so difficult to cope with. You and Sharong will certainly be in my prayers. I don't know what else to say. Have you been in touch with Suzanne lately? I don't know if she could be of any help with this situation or not.

Re: What Happens When We Die?

I believe that when we actually die we either go to heaven or to hell. I believe that both of these places are real. I chose to be sure I go to heaven. Also, BTW I did have a near-death experience in September 2006 when I had necrotizing fasciitis and everyone thought I would be dead in a matter of ...

Re: venting

Crikey Girl. a colostomy doesn't have to be a bad thing if you refuse to let it be a bad thing. I have had mine for 28 months now and believe me for the first six months I was obsessed with how much I hated it. Sure, I'd rather not have one but the facts are that I do have one. At this point, if my ...

Re: Paul Update PART TWO ...... FYI....Not good news

Wendy, I am so very sorry to hear this news. My prayers are with Paul, you, and your boys. This has got to be extremely tough on all of you, but it sounds like your Paul is one strong guy. Enjoy every day and hug each other a lot.

Love,
Pam

Praise the Lord, Sherri! He is SO good! It always makes me smile when you can "stump the doctors" with a miracle. May He continue to bless you.

Re: Questions about spheres

Hey Lifes. Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to this post. I just finished SIRT three weeks ago. In my case in early August my oncologist said that we had run out of chemo options and referred me to a specialist in Detroit whose specialty is clinical trials. I already had SIRT on my mind at t...

Re: Poo bag advise needed!!

I did not have luck with the two-piece systems...any brand...because of the neuropathy in my hands. I tried them several times and had an extremely difficult time hooking/unhooking the bag to/from the wafer. Just a thought.

Re: Hair Thinning......

When I was in the hospital with necrotizing fasciitis, the wound was debrided 3 times a week and one of the meds used that I can remember was Versed, as well as Fentanyl. There was other junk in there too but I don't remember. I also had 5 operations at that time. I lost about half of my hair. The n...

Re: Can anyone recommend a part time job/work from home job?

What skills do you have? I quit my job several years ago because the stress was horrendous and I had no energy to even have my grandkids spend the night once in a while. I was miserable. I took a medical transcription course (took 6 months) from a highly recommended school from home. I graduated wit...

Re: I am in trouble here...in deep despair....help!!!

I had a rectal tumor that was literally killing me. It leaked into my leg causing a very very serious infection called necrotizing fasciitis which is almost always fatal when it's as bad as my family says it was (I had no memory for the first three weeks of my hospitalization). It nearly cost me my ...
