Re: For Stage III's: NED for how long now?

I dunno. 10 years maybe. Maybe the little bio thingy at the end of my post will tell me. After all thees years all my doctor appts, etc have been wiped from my calendar on my phone and computers, I still have the CAT scan, MRI , PET scan, fluoroscope, X-ray, ultrasound, etc on my phone "just in...

Re: Is it just me?

i hate pink also. i just can't stand her style of music. the words of some of her songs are okay, but oh, the noise. i say bring back doowop. there are some groups like pentatonix who are both modern and show great style in their music. pink is so not cool any more. i am glad to find a music forum w...

Re: coming up on one year

Cherie, that sucks for sure. i can't predict the final outcome (is there any such thing with cancer?) of your treatment, but i can tell you a bit of what it is like on the other side after a world of hurt and crap. i had my dx in feb of 09. treatment began immediately after dx and life spiraled down...

Re: Having a BM with an ileostomy??

happens all the time...mostly after i sleep on my right side (the side w my ileo) and i have very liquid output (typical). for me it tends to be problematic only when i have not had a mucus discharge for a while. combine poo with mucus and it can get a bit messy. i even sit on the toity for a bit to...

Re: Chemo brain?

I was foggy from chemo for sure, but what I think was chemo brain for me was like when you have a word right on the tip of your tongue and after a minute or two it comes to you, but it never does any more. I just stopped trying to come up with he word. Early on speaking was sometimes tiring. Now, ye...

Re: Neuropathy

I have had neuropathy for so long now I forget what my feet and fingers are supposed to feel like. It has gotten better, but the feeling varies still. Mostly no pain - sometimes in my feet. Can't feel my finger tips much, maybe never. Working in the yard I always had to check my hands to make sure I...

Re: Neuropathy

I had to look at my profile to remember my treatment dates. I still have neuropathy in my fingers and feet. Feet can be pretty annoying at times even now, but over time things have gotten better and I have learned to manage with it all better too. Here's to your neuropathy getting better and you get...

Re: Round 10

Eric,
You must be dong well to have a big bowel of anything while on chemo. I lost over 100 lbs while on chemo. Fortunately I had the weight to lose.
Here's to many more big bowels of shredded wheat and to finishing your treatments soon!

Re: Truth or Consequences - life is all about choices

Sorry to hear about your hospital stay, both the necessity and the crappy experience. MSKCC really does spoil you. I am amazed at just how bad hospitals can be. Sometimes I wonder if we both have the same goals of getting me better and OUT of the hospital. I did not know you had a neph (spotty parti...

Re: Surgery - but surprise - it wasn't cancer?

In March Surgeon and oncologist both said cancer was back. Sacral cancer at that. The tumor looked huge on the scans. They told me Dr Paty at MSKCC could help me if anyone could. More consultations. It looked bad, bone loss, pain and huge area of involvement. Had surgery may 2. I had a peroration in...

Re: Make Mine a Double--The Real Deal

Ha! Eric so glad things are moving along! I love MSKCC. They are so willing to work with you and accomplish your goals and their goals. They are the only hospital I have been in that realized at some point I could get better faster in my own home on my own (okay wife's help sometimes was required). ...

Re: So I SORT OF failed the leak CT..maybe

My leak test was contrast and X-rays. Not that it meant anything. Sometime during the following year I had a perforation that nearly killed me. The tube providing the contrast came shooting out and they had to spend an hour cleaning the room before the next patient could come in the room. Now I am g...
