Re: It's On

Ya, I started reading it back in 1998, but missed the last two releases. I've got the 2nd to last one and plan to read it soon. I know a lot of people read alot when sick, but I quit entirely. Thanks, should I keep the pictures coming? Any Rober Jordan/Wheel of Time fans in the house? Been wai...

Re: New Blog - www.ihavelynchsyndrome.com

I too have Lynch and do the yearly thing now. When my brother was DX'd in 2001, standard genetic protocol was to resect and only remove the entire colon if it came back. He only lived 9 months after his resection. I got it from my father, who died of CRC. My sister also has the mutation. It's a terr...

Re: Now accepting applications for 2014 Colondar models

I am very up in the air about doing this. It's been just over 3 years since my DX and I am always looking for more ways to make people aware of this disease and aware of Lynch Syndrome. Just not sure I'm right for it.

Re: Stuart Scott

Yes, it looks like he has some sort of gut cancer and looks like it's his third bout with the disease and only 47 years of age. He's been a staple on Sports Center for years, this is very sad news.

Re: Signet Ring help?

You need to be very aggressive with SRC. Look into options such as total colectomy instead of re-section, opt for open surgery and have as many Lymph Nodes removed as possible to the point of risk, these are the things I was advised and I followed it. I don't have an ostomy and my Quality of life is...

It's been 3 years for me, still kicking ass!

Just wanted to share some good/cool news, it's been 3 years for me. Three years since they found 2 5cm Signet Ring Cell tumors in my colon just millimeters from getting out of the serosa, on my 3rd scope in 7 years. Was certain I'd be dead long ago, had 2 immediate family members with stage-3 get re...

Re: New to Marijuana

Go with a pure Indica strain, almost any kush will do. Hits your body much harder than your head. Though I found sativas/hybrids better for nausea/appetite and an absolute must during treatments. Didnt know much about this b4 my DX, but I have a lot of knowledge now, it's been very helpful in so man...

PET Scan clean

My 3rd PET since finishing FOLFOX 2 years ago, still clean, bloodwork still normal.

Starting to feel pretty optimistic now.

Re: anyone try hemp oil?

I'm of the opinion that only removal 'cures' cancer.

That said, some chronic is good for anyone going through this.

Re: Medical Marijuana and Nausea

In an ideal world, who cares why someone would use Cannabis?

As for chemo, yes I have always said: do not be afraid to try ANYTHING that works. When it came to being able to eat during TX weeks, I found it invaluable.

Not to mention the benefits to the your state of mind, cancer can be stressful.
