Re: TMI Rant - for sensitive souls

I am further along than you. I have developed complications I find sitting to be much more uncomfortable than bed rest. I tend to agree, not having a rectum stresses radiated tissue. Good luck moving forward dear.

Re: Caregiver overload

I had a temp iileostomy after my surgery. My dr really really wanted to avoid the colostomy . Well reversal to my rectum, I would say has not been successfull . Other than I do not have a colostomy. I am starting to think maintenance of a colostomy while not easy, still would have given me better QO...

All I know is I am starting to get significant pain from sacrum. Sometimes I can feel a gas bubble a...

Re: Will I ever stop thinking about cancer?

I never stop thinking about it. It's very dependant on how you are feeling physically. And dependant on your individual story. cancer is a traumatic life event. I think it's totally normal to think about it often. Now dealing with the thoughts is a whole other thread.

Re: Are your oncologists like politicians, too?

When the efficacy of chemo is far less than 100%. They are trying to convince you to do soemthing that may or may not work. And even when it does , the probably will be a price for it. Is it any wonder they don't look? Their job is to save lives. Not to become emotionally invested. Cancer treatment ...

Re: Another CRC Risk Factor that Doesn't Apply to Me

We don't know what cancer is. We don't know how to cure it. Ultimately it is down right silly to try and identify a risk factor for, cancer. We don't choose our hair color. We don't know why somoene slams home runs better than others, why Whitney Houston has an unforgettable singing talent. Cancer is...

Re: Short-Course Versus Standard Chemoradiation in Rectal Cancer

What's the difference with short or long. Is the amount of radiation the same? Or is it just administered at differnt measured amounts per session?
