What follow up treatment after Liver Resections?

Hello everyone, I had a successful liver resection and the removal of a nodule in the pelivs. Clear margin on the liver, indeterminate margins in the pelvis, due to amount of scar tissue. I was most concerned about spread over the three years since my last surgery, however the surgeon found nothing ...

afraid

hi all, I am feeling overwhelmed and afraid. I am dealing with a recurrence in my liver and also a nodule/node in pelvis. I was Dx in 4/2010, surgery/debulking and year and a half of chemo...I know I have been lucky to have had no progression for 3 years. I am scheduled for surgery to remove both th...

Re: Stage IV NED for 3 years, now Liver met, possible pelvic

Thank you all so much for your responses. I really needed to hear some encouragement. I am so grateful to this board and the knowledge here. I wanted to mention that I did ask for a resection after chemo, but my onc told me they would not resect because there was nothing to indicate a met was ever t...

Stage IV NED for 3 years, now Liver met, possible pelvic

Greetings to all, Well, the other shoe has dropped for me. I've had no progression/recurrence for 3 years. Just got my CT/Pet results. The 14 mm liver met at diagnosis, that disappeared with chemo, is now back. It's about the same size --1.5cm with an SUV of 8.4. They also identified "something...

I have not yet had a recurrence. Jan 2013 marks 2 year NEDs. No progression or new disease for almost three years. Stage IVb.

Re: Just diagnosed stage IV and scared

Hi Sunny, I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I know how terrifying it is. Same thing happened to me in April 2010. Same story, stage IV, my oldest is 13 and my twins are 10. I am now 28 months from my original DX. I did folfox avastin for the first six months. I worked all the way through it...

Re: Remission with stage 4 metastatic colon cancer?

Hi Blue,

I have a similar story. Started chemo in May '10 and by July '10 there was no evidence that it ever existed on the ct/pet. Lymph nodes took longer to fade out, but were gone by Jan '11 scan. Clear scans ever since. Still scanning every three months.

Re: CEA Level 5 to 10 - How Concerned Should I Be?

Mine has done this a couple of times also. I typically run around 1.8 and it jumped over 6 a couple of times last year. During both those jumps I was dealing with alot of chemo related pain in my upper arms (so painful I could not lift my arm over my head---very wierd). Each time it dropped back dow...

Just had my 11th Good news scan since my Dx in 4/2010. I'm still NED. Woot!
