Yes. Had my LAR surgery (ultra low resection) hand sewn anastomoses 6 weeks ago. Stayed in hospital for 19 days due to complications. Iv infusion at home for two weeks after that. Recovering now at home.

Still in hospital with complications after 13 days

Surgery scheduled for August 4. Ultra low LAR surgery. Surgeon is saying they will not be able to use staple but will be hand sewing anastomoses. Any one has any insight on this? Is it better or not?

Just got another opinion and new place read slides again. Pathology report Shows same mucinous features with some signet cells. Going for full mesorectal resection at MSK soon.
