Re: Is there anything I can do before, during and after Chemotherapy to improve outcome?

If it’s like mine, you will have 6 weeks recovery after surgery before chemo starts. Find an oncologist that you are comfortable and confident in, that way there is no second guessing. You will spend the next 5 years with this doctor and your relationship is important. If he/she says no vitamins/sup...

Re: Newbie here - chemo help / advice

I had 9 rounds of Folfox in 2020, I can honestly say the main side effect was extreme fatigue. Lost most of my hair and 40 pounds due to lack of appetite, but I was never nauseated. I developed neuropathy during my last round (hands and feet). It will be 3 years in November and they have improved.

MD Anderson

The University of Texas/M D Anderson Cancer Center are building a $2.5 billion hospital in Austin, Tx. It will be built where the Frank Erwin Center stands today, which is to be demolished later this fall. Sadly it will take 4 to 5 years to be built. This gives me hope. stage 3c, 3 lymph nodes out of 32. It’s been 1 1/2 years since my surgery. I had 9 rounds of chemo after surgery. 3 CT scans have been clear, CEA at .9.
Thanks for your post.

Re: Does FOLFOX turn your hair to straw?

My oncologist assured me, most people’s hair only thins, but I lost most of the hair on the top of my head. I had 9 rounds of Folfox. It came back in very frizzy and dry. Using a hair dryer made it worse. I started using products for curly hair, which improved it’s appearance. It has been 9 months ...
