Re: Can anyone help explaining what KRAS/BRAF Mutations Mean?

Hi, I'm early in my CRC journey and waiting on my test results that tell me which mutations my tumor has. Can anyone help shed light on what the possible mutations are and what they mean in terms of treatment and recurrence? Thank you everyone Thank you Stoma Mia - does it only come into play if it...

Finally Found Out Staging: T3N2aM0. Need Help.

Hi, I've been positing a lot on this forum, and til now did not know my staging. I just found out today I am 3B, T3N2aM0. I know it's not the worst but it's also not the best. It seems like there's a 65% chance I'll be disease free in five years. This really sucks. I know others have it worse but I ...

Does CEA pre-surgery impact prognosis?

Hi everyone — I’m wondering if having a high CEA before surgery means anything for your prognosis/likelihood of recurrence?

My CEA was 16 pre-surgery.

Re: Examples where size doesn’t equal stage?

Size is not what matters most. What really matters is how deep the tumor has grown into the colon wall, i.e., through how many layers it has grown. This will no doubt be documented in the pathology report of your resection. In your case, the 7cm most likely refers to the length of the tumor -- and ...

Examples where size doesn’t equal stage?

Hi everyone, I’m currently recovering from my robotic laparoscopic sigmoid resection. I’m still waiting on my staging. But of course, I’m driving myself crazy with what I do know: my tumor was 7cm, which seems huge. Everything on google says size isn’t a good for survival… Strangely, I’ve been googl...

Gall bladder is collapsed.” on my report. ???? I cant find the much on the terms “gallbladder” and “collapse” on google...

... I’m scheduled to get surgery next week ... Are you all set for your surgery next week? Do you now have all the things that you will need to have at home during the recovery period? For example, all of the right kinds of food and medical supplies that you will need to have close at hand ? Now is...

Any young, long term survivors? Need hope

Can anyone share positive stories of being diagnosed stage 2/3/4 at a young age and remaining cured/NED? I see a few from people who are over 50 but I would really like any encouragement from people who started young (under 40) and made it through. Seeing success stories from everyone is helpful, bu...
