Re: High AST, ALT, B12?

Hi, JJH! Came back from the cruise and everything was great! The best part really, was that there was no Wi-Fi (actually, you could pay a gazillion dollars to get some slow Wi-Fi on the ship, which we declined), so we caught up on sleep, reading and talking… I retook the blood tests and my AST and A...

Re: High AST, ALT, B12?

Claudine, thank you. Yes, it is nearly impossible not to go to Dr. Google. But I feel good right now, so there is that. Going on a cruise on Dec 26, which I optimistically booked in sept, before omnicrom. Now I am sort of hoping the cruise line will cancel, which obv they won’t. And I won’t cancel b...

High AST, ALT, B12?

So, I finally went to see my rheumatologist to check on my Lupus, since I skipped our 6 months checkups while I was dealing with my cancer treatments. I haven’t taken Hydroxychloroquine because it interfered with chemo, and haven’t resumed taking it after chemo because we both felt that I was stable...

Re: Hair loss on Folfox oxiaplatin

I experienced a lot of hair loss on CAPOX, but didn’t lose it all. At some point, I wondered whether I should shave it all. I had/have long hair, and kept it that way so that I could have a loose braid and not have hair falling all over the floor and to avoid matting (the texture became very thin al...

Good luck, and hopefully you will find a few fun things to do in NY. Broadway shows are back and I think it is much easier to get tix too. Keep us posted. We are all rooting for you!

Re: Mrs. Wiggins is gone!

I had a colostomy too, and our cases are similar, though I am Stage 2B. My reversal was on July 14, and I would say that the BMs decrease significantly each day. My rectum was left intact, so I had good control, but in the first 2 weeks I would just go out for very short errands. I also trained myse...

Roadrunner, everything you said describes my feelings perfectly, specially the line above. It’s all really a fine balance, isn’t it?

Thank you all for the advice.

Re: Update: First scan since chemo and MSK impact result

Chemo brain is soooo complex, and I’m not sure we fully understand it really. In my opinion (and what I’ve gleaned from reading), there’s really at least 3 components to it: 1. Fatigue - related to treatments and surgery, etc. 2. Anxiety & depression - associated with a life-threatening illness...

Update: First scan since chemo and MSK impact result

I had my first 3 month scan since chemo and all is clear. I should be happy, and I am, but if I am honest, I expected it to be clear “for now”. Does anybody have this feeling too? I wasn’t anxious about this scan; I am anxious about the 3rd or 4th scan. It’s like waiting for the bad news to drop, so...

Re: Next steps after chemotherapy: reversal and supplements

Thank you for the suggestion, Stoma Mia. I had the telecall w the MSK integrative dr, and I went over my current supplements which are: B12, B6,D3, turmeric, low dose aspirin, biotin for hair and nails, fish oil. For most he was like, “it won’t do anything, but you can keep on taking if you want” LO...

Oh, Gina, so happy for you! I have followed your journey, cried when you had bad news, and always wondered how you were doing! If you meditate, this may sound familiar…“May you be happy, may you be healthy, may you be safe, may you live at ease”….xoxo from NJ
