Re: Lung met

Thank you. I gave her the info. She says that there is a small nodular thickening in the both of the lower lobes. She believes that's cancer? There are areas called ground glass opacities. One of them tested positive for adenocarcinoma. And than she had the met removed that ended up being 1 cm.

Re: Lung met

I tried to get more info. But don't understand. My friend is not in a mental stage to answer. It seems the cancer cells were found in the lung fluid. So she feels it's not treatable.

Re: Lung met

Update: My friend has had I have ground glass opacities on her CT scan. Few of these areas. Her oncologist kept saying it's "nothing". It has been there since her diagnoses 4 years ago when she had the solitary liver met. During her lung surgery when the solitary 0.6 cm was removed the gro...

Re: Checking in approaching 13 year stage 4 survivor

Congratulations. So happy for you. My mom is 75 and fighting stage 4 lung cancer. It's so sad. My son went to visit her for his spring break. She pushed herself and hang out with him. But I know she is feeling really sick from chemo. She lives in Europe. I just hate cancer. Planning to spend the sum...

Re: Lung met

As my understanding with her lung surgery. The 0.6 cm met was completely removed. She is NED again. Not sure why her medical team is so pessimistic. Thank you all again!0

Re: Lung met

Thank you so much for sharing all your experience and recommendations. We actually met in person last summer in Athens. Both stage 4 survivors. I agree with a socialized health care. We have it in my country. My mom at 75 years old wasn't diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer until I took her to an urg...

Re: Interesting (and optimistic) danish study on recurrence for stage I-III colorectal cancer

Almost 5 years. I believe especially young patients we don't fit statistics. We are not even suppose to have this type of cancer. I was 39 stage 1. 44 during covid stage 4. My tumor grew within a year to almost 10 cm with involving my ovary and distant lymph nodes. Life is good now. Heading to Dubai...

Re: To set a goal or not set a goal; that is the question.

Siti, Congratulations on your 2 homes. I also bought a property in another country. I was completely remodeling it during covid while I was diagnosed. I understand your concern about starting family. I am 47 and thankfully both my kids are in college. My daughter just did well on her Mcat. Applying ...

I love listening to different podcast on cancer and attitude. There is a connection between staying positive and our healing response. Having goals and staying positive is SO important for us. Go enjoy Iceland with your wife before your surgery.

Re: To set a goal or not set a goal; that is the question.

I personally never gave up on my goals. I was on treatment (folfoxiri) during covid. And I flew to different destinations like Utah for skiing, Disney World in Florida. And visit my daughter in college in California multiple times. She was a student athlete and on campus. I had less than 1% survivor...
