Re: VAXINIA (CF33 + hNIS) clinical trial

Hi all. So for those who follow these things - next week (19th) I will be starting the VAXINIA (CF33 + hNIS) clinical trial at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. This is a phase 1 trial of an oncolytic virus manufactured by Imugene and developed by Prof. Yuman Fong at City of Hope, who ...

Re: Histotripsy

Hey Dennyp, any updates? Yes, after talking to my oncologist I decided to do radiation. She is interested in the technology but thinks more data is needed. Also I was having a very difficult time getting access to the technology. More machines have been placed near me in the NYC area. Hopefully I w...

Re: Histotripsy

I have been following their progress updates and seems very good. Hopefully they say they can take CRC patients now. Keep us in the loop. I find this very interesting for sure. Will do, started the ball rolling, I’ve asked my care team to contact them and send them whatever they need to evaluate my...

Histotripsy

Hey all, I’m eligible for liver surgery to remove a single liver lesion. It’s located in an area that increases the risk of liver failure but the risk is still pretty low about 5%. I’ve been reading about histotripsy and seems really promising. I’d love to avoid surgery but I think this technology i...

Re: Liver surgery?

Amazingly I faced a very similar decision around a year ago, just over 4 years after initial diagnosis. Do a portal vein embolisation (PVE) then resection of a significant liver lesion including 2 hepatic veins and an extrahepatic lymph node, or SBRT radiation of both liver lesion and lymph node. I...

Re: Liver surgery?

Thoughts and JMO only here 1. does any option absolutely preclude any other option later ? 2. from what you have said the radiation / chemo route might be a good first choice and keep the surgery as last resort, given the risks. 3. get a second / third opinion ? sending you my best wishes and suppo...

Liver surgery?

Hey all, I have some treatment decisions to make and was hoping for some collective wisdom. I have 2 lesions 1 on my diaphragm and 1 in my liver. My options are surgery to remove both tumors, this comes with a 5-8% risk of liver failure because of the location of the lesion, they would need to remov...

Re: Stable disease

My last scan showed that an adrenal lesion was dying, which was ... just... WOW. That being said, I've been doing this for a long time, and "stable" is cause for celebration IMHO. Sorry, you did say picked up on scan, what type of scam was it? PET scan. Here's what the report noted: Known...

Re: Stable disease

My sister, Maria, is currently facing a similar situation. The last two CAT scans have shown no changes, and her oncologist is pleased with the stability. Her CEA has consistently remained within the normal range since August. Despite these positive indicators, she harbors a slight disappointment a...

Re: Stable disease

Thanks for the encouraging words. How did they tell it was dying? Through scans? Is that something you can determine with scans?
