Re: Can someone help please.

Hopefullhetti, Welcome to the forum. IMO, I don't think an oncologist can accurately predict life expectancy because everyone's cancer progression is different. Zephyr is right that Stage IV disease is no longer a death sentence. People with Stage IV cancer are living longer and new treatments are b...

roadrunner,

I, too, was wondering how you are doing after your colostomy surgery. I hope you are doing well and I hope you have been able to resume running again.

Re: Fast decline in respiratory capacity

bar80, Solid advice has been given thus far. I just wanted to add a few things. First, nobody knows how much time we have left. You could live several more years or you could be hit by a car tomorrow ( I hope not! ). Instead of worrying about how much time you have left, I would focus on the PRESENT...

Re: New diagnosis

Maggie, Good luck with your surgery. I am sure it will go smoothly. It is great news that PET scan was negative for metastasis. Although I don't have any personal experience with a right hemicolectomy, there are others on this forum that do. Perhaps, someone can weigh in here and describe their expe...

lagarto, The SUNLIGHT trial which tested Lonsurf and Avastin showed that people enrolled in the trial lived a median of 10.8 months with progression free survival of 5.6 months. Re: Recurrence with normal CEA??

Hi, Yes, you can have a recurrence with normal CEA. It has happened to me twice (right lung and brain). I, too, agree with all of the previous comments here. I just wanted to add a few things. First, I would press for an MRI. I was told by my oncologist that MRI shows more detailed imaging of the li...

Re: New here and a tad worried....

I agree with roadrunner. Don't be shy to ask your provider direct questions regarding timing of another colonoscopy. Open and honest communication with your health care provider may alleviate some of your anxieties.

Re: Nervous with recent symptoms

Jared, Unfortunately, those of us on this forum, know all too well what you are going through. The anxiety that accompanies colonoscopies in general and a possible CRC diagnosis is unreal. However, until you get the colonoscopy, you will not know whether you have CRC or not. I sincerely hope you hav...

Joe,

Wow, a Porsche and a plane! Sounds like you are having a blast. I am happy for you. It's good to hear that your ileostomy is not preventing you from having fun! Good luck with your ileostomy reversal surgery in December. I am sure it will be a success!

Take care and keep in touch,

Paige
