Re: Meditation (PSA and recommendation)

zephyr, Thank you so much for sharing this link. I am excited to try it. In the past, I have experienced difficulty with guided meditation but I will try this one. Actually, I have the best luck sitting in complete silence without concentrating on breath, bodily sensations or mantra. It takes some p...

Re: Lung met

saltygirl, You or your friend may want to search this forum for one of the members ( Rob in PA ) for inspiration and hope. Based on his signature and posts, he has undergone chemo, SBRT along with VATS procedure(s) for lung nodules. If I remember correctly, I think he has been NED for almost 10 year...

Markdale, Have you had your vitamin D levels checked recently? The reason that I ask is that vitamin D may play a role in bone metastases from what I have read. I found this article to be interesting https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7695905/, particularly part 4 (Discussion) where it spe...

Re: Neulasta bone pain

I agree with Rob about Claritin/naproxen combo and the other helpful suggestions. Have you considered acupuncture or a TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) device? Both acupuncture and the tens device have helped me with bone pain in the past.

Re: Pet scan

Markdale, I agree with everything that rp1954 has said. I just wanted to add a few things... 1)Along with elevated ALP levels, some patients with bone mets may have ( not always ) hypercalcemia (elevated blood calcium). Has your blood calcium been elevated recently? 2) Zoledronic acid is a good choi...

Re: New guy with old questions.

I agree with Peregrine that advice may depend on what type of pump you get. Alot of colorectal cancer patients get a pump that is stored in a fanny pack. Yeah, think 1990s, lol. However, I think the most important consideration is not to lie down on the clear tubing connected to the pump. One way ar...

Hi Joe, Welcome to Colon Club. You have come to the right place. I am sorry to hear your cancer has spread to iliac lymph nodes. Perhaps someone on here that has experienced similar metastasis can post and share their experiences with that. Also, I don't have any experience with FOLFIRINOX. Again, m...

Re: What to do for continuous anal pain

Oof, this is something that I would definitely discuss with your doctor. All of the previous recommendations on here are good. Have you tried a sitz bath? It may help ease some of the pain. I have found sitz baths that can fit over the toilet bowl are more convenient and easier than climbing in and ...

tater, Sorry to hear about your family member. She should definitely talk to her doctor about the lingering pain. Although the following article is old (1994) and surgical techniques may have changed, I found the following article interesting https://www.jtcvs.org/article/S0022-5223(94)70384-1/pdf ....

Re: Gee it’s quiet here huh…

Claudine,

Sorry to hear about your husband's nausea on Lonsurf/Avastin. That's tough. A cancer friend of mine says Aprepitant really helps her with chemo nausea, although she is not on Lonsurf/Avastin. Maybe this medication could help your husband's nausea and vomiting.
