Re: Xeloda dosing

I have been on Xeloda for about 17 months with no evidence of disease following my last VATS. I take 1500 mg twice a day for 7 days on and then 7 days off. I have had no issues with hfs. The main side effect I deal with is being so tired, especially with the chemo week tiredness continues into the o...

Re: What were you most afraid of about your diagnosis?

I wasn’t really afraid, but I was so damn sad at the possibility of missing out on so many things that I’ve looked forward to my entire life…like watching my grandchildren grow up and travel and taking care of my Mama as she grows older. But, I have learned to enjoy as much time as I can with my fam...

Chemo for Recurring lung Mets

What chemo is used for Recurring lung Mets? I had 6 rounds of Folfox after first lung Mets, but I just had 2 more removed. I meet with oncologist next week to discuss.

Re: Scan Anxiety- Update

Yesterday, I had my VATS surgery to remove the 6mm nodule from my lung. While probing my lung, my surgeon also found a 2 mm nodule that did not show up on CT. He removed both, and they were both Mets from my colon. As soon as I heal some, I will be meeting with my oncologist to determined what chemo...

Re: Scan Anxiety- Update

My scans showed growth from 4 mm to 6mm in 3 months. I will be having surgery to remove the nodule on August 5. After talking with my oncologist, I will likely go on maintenance chemo once I'm healed from the surgery, and of course, pending confirmation that the nodule is a met.

Re: Vats for lung nodules

In July 2020, I had vats in both lungs 48 hours apart. Recovery from the incisions took several weeks, but recovering lung capacity is a different story. It took several months. For me, the most painful part was the chest tube from the 2nd surgery. I agree about the O2 meter, and a recliner is very ...

Re: Scan Anxiety- Update

As I suspected, the nodule in my lung grew from 4mm to 6mm. Other than that, there was nothing significant noted in the radiologist's report today. I will see my oncologist and thoracic surgeon tomorrow to see what they recommend. The surgeon said that if it grew, he would take it out, so that's wha...

Re: Waxing Whistful - 8 years since diagnosis

Congrats on 8 years!! Although I am only 18 months from my initial dx, I am not the same. Sometimes I feel more free than I ever have because I tell myself "go for it" "say it" "what are you holding back for?" And I surprise myself and my family bc I am usually pretty r...

I hate that you're having to go through this. Waiting is definitely very difficult. Hopefully, it will be something that is not cancerous and that can be easily treated. I'm here if you need to vent!
