Re: Good News!

Thank you everyone for your replies. I hope I didn't come across badly. Stressing out for sure. I am so thankful that DH has done so well. And thanks to you here I know we have a chance for a cure. My head is spinning with all of this. DH has agreed to get second opinion. He told me he is happy that...

Re: Good News!

124 people have read my post. No responses. I was hoping to get advice/support from this group. I'm questioning myself and what the doctor has said. I don't know what to think any more. Have I said something wrong? I'm not too good at the terminology of everything. Is there something that people are...

Good News!

DH was diagnosed end of May 2020 with stage 4 colon cancer. We were told mets to liver and lungs. Had liver biopsy to confirm. No lung biopsy. CC surgeon said DH needed chemo and sent him over to ONC that day. DH has had 6 rounds of FU5 with avastin and had CT scan afterwards which the Onc showed us...

Re: CEA and CA 19-9

Many thanks to everyone for all your thoughts and advice. It's really appreciated. I'm looking forward to speaking to the doctor after DH's ct scan. And you can be sure, I'm gonna ask lots of questions and not necessarily take no for an answer! Ex surgery, hai pump.... Learned that from this forum. :D

Re: Pension Plan, take a lump sum or not?

We have no children to consider. When I retired and took my pension I took the option where if I passed before hubby, he would still get 100 percent of my pension for the rest of his life. I took a bit of a monthly hit, but felt it was worth it. Also with this option, if my hubby passes before me my...

Re: Recently Diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer

Thanks again everyone. Have lots to discuss with the doctors. Yes I know that there is a meeting every Monday to discuss hubby's case. We got a call from a doctor from the meeting confirming that hubby doing chemo is the path right now. First when we saw Dr. W he was the one that said we needed chem...

Re: Recently Diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer

Thanks to everyone again! It is nice to know that someone else here has the same doctors as hubby. I can email them any time with any questions, they really encourage it. Hubby sees the onc before every infusion. I am definitely asking a lot of questions for the doctors after hubby gets his scans. F...

Re: Recently Diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer

Monimom: Thank you for sharing. So far my hubby's only "surgeries" have been the port and one biopsy of his liver also. He's got the chemo pump on as we speak. This will be round 4 finished out of 6 rounds. I am anxious about what his petscan will show . Have your hubby's doctors every rec...

Re: Recently Diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer

Thank you both so much for your responses and insight. I will ask his doctors about surgery. Also appreciate the hydration info. When the doctor said inoperable my first thought was why. The surgeon Said he could fix the colon tumors, whatever that meant, but that he needed chemo first. The oncologi...

Recently Diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer

My DH has recently been diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer. He is 62 with no family history that we know of. We are shocked and scared. His diagnosis is: Malignant neoplasm of ascending colon (HCC), secondary liver cancer (HCC) and malignant neoplasm metastatic to lung, unspecified laterality (Hcc...
