Re: Xeloda monotherpay after two months break from 4x XelOx

Thx JJH. Yes her initial CT said that she had a ground glass nodule right upper lobe and several tiny cysts lower lobe right. Her previous Pet didn't say anything about the 4mm ggn. But did say several sub pleural cysts and atelectasis. So I brought this both to the radiology team's concern and they...

Re: Xeloda monotherpay after two months break from 4x XelOx

Thx JJH for more info. There is no mention of SUV max, or any of the pics showing any highlights in the report and the summary at the end of the report says no significant suv uptake. Where we get scanned they do pet ct as a general rule as it's a cancer specific center. And I can see from the repor...

Hi all, Some background We just went to our oncologist after pet ct scan yesterday after an year from initial diagnosis. Based on previous pet ct done in June 20 that only said bibasilar atelectasis, the current pet ct report says there are 2 4mm nodules in right lung, non specific but mentioned as ...

Re: All Lung Nodule Experiences

Worried a bit, because my mom just had a pet ct scan after finishing her adjuvant chemo post surgery, also one year after initial diagnosis with a CT (done at a different place). And the scan said a 4mm nodule right upper lung. A 4mm pleural based nodule right posterior basal lung are seen that were...

Re: 3 months left of life

Sorry you're going through this. You are in my prayers and I pray that you get out of this. I have read a lot of ppl do get out of tough situations like this. Just speak to your docs and get few more options and try it you never know what might work.

Re: Rectal Cancer: Habr-Gama Watch and Wait Strategy to Avoid Surgery

Just thought I ll update the thread since I have had so many of you answer my naive questions. Thank you for that first. After considering W&W and all the inputs from you wonderful folks, we spoke to a few surgeons and med oncs and decided to get the surgery done. Surgery was done well into 13th...

Re: Dad diagnosed last week, stage iv with innumerable mets

Hang in there brandon10, and so good to see you got your dad's back. I know it's tough, but try to be positive For me meditating and praying have always helped. Remember more positive you are the more confident your dad will be and that's good for his recovery. I pray you will get out of this soon a...

Re: Rectal Cancer: Habr-Gama Watch and Wait Strategy to Avoid Surgery

Thx CRGuy and Jolene for your valuable responses. For now we are leaning towards the surgery route after talking to few medical / surgical oncos. Also, the burden of Covid19 weighs on our mind should we go the surgical route immediately or wait few months (We are in India where covid19 has now start...

Re: Rectal Cancer: Habr-Gama Watch and Wait Strategy to Avoid Surgery

If I'm not mistaken, I believe a lot of patients who have the surgery also have mop-up chemo. Depending upon Stage, location, grade, mets or other "questionnables" I would have to say the answer is generally YES to adjuvant chemo of some sort after resection..... SO you are not mistaken !...

Re: Rectal Cancer: Habr-Gama Watch and Wait Strategy to Avoid Surgery

Thx nifty624 and prs for your responses, we have been advised LAR as well, however the second surgeon we met says we are a good candidate for W&W and need to follow up with investigations after 2 months from today which puts us at mid of August. After that if all clear, then it would be every 3 ...

Re: W&W or Surgery Dilemma

Why go through the surgery, and more to the point the probability of life-altering after-effects if not necessary? If it were me I think I'd go for watch and wait in the circumstances. If she has quarterly scans, and they eventually pick something up, she could opt for surgery then. This is purely ...

W&W or Surgery Dilemma

Hi folks, My second post here, some background, TL;DR please read my signature. my mom was DX with a rectal tumor on 8th Feb 2020. Her CT and MRI confirmed it is node +ve(2 perirectal nodes upto 6mm). CT also mentioned a Liver hemangioma and a Ground Glass Nodule (GGN)in Lung. However they both said...
