Re: Folfiri Sessions

Hello sorry your dad is going threw this but I am glad he seems to be handling it well . My dad also just started folfiri and his oncologist says we will go for as long as it works . But I think alot of factors go into how much chemo has your dad had surgery ? Is surgery a option for him at all ? I...

Re: Folfiri Sessions

Thank you all for your replies. After my post (from the centre) I got some details from the nurse. The doctor was not available yesterday because of another emergency, hopefully talk to him next time. He had 12 cycles of 5FU + Leukovorin + Irin + Avastin. Given his CT after 6 cycles showed major par...

Folfiri Sessions

How many sessions of Folfiri are recommended in a go ? Dad has had 14 so far, with Avastin, and the most current CT shows 2 nodules in the lungs stable from the prior CT (which showed considerable decrease in them). All the literature i can find recommends 12 at most. He is asymptomatic, no sign of ...

Re: Covid 19 vaccine

I am planning on getting the shot today (Sinopharm is available in my country). Dad starts Chemo in 1-2 weeks and while he may not be able to get it (Oncologist would push back chemo if he did), i feel I owe it to him to be protected while around him and not carry a virus when i am with him.

Re: So Scared

I’m sorry for my earlier panic attack. I had just received the news and didn’t know else to do. I suffer crippling anxiety about this topic. I realize now I may have offended the journey of so many people who are in Similiar positions and fighting bravely. I’m sorry  If i am right in this bein...

So Scared

Dad is 2 years post LAR, and on his post op scans showed multiple lung nodules. Been tracking them since, but in the latest scan (6 month interval) - shows significant growth. Its 27mm now from 15mm last time (was stable for prior 3 scans) and PET showed no uptake. Appointment on Sunday with Onc, I ...

Re: Lung Thingy

Thank you everyone for the replies. Things a bit crazy at home so didn't get a chance to log on earlier. Two oncologists (Same hospital, Primary + another Onc friend my dad made during his time admitted last year) looked at the scans again and said no action necessary at this point, it all seems sta...

Lung Thingy

So just got back Dads latest CT scan last night. All good in the abdomen, no findings. In the lungs the nodules seen in a scan in Oct 19 still there, biggest one 6mm, no change. Other ones (no # given but termed tiny) “minimally” increased. Overall impression “stable disease”. The same nodules were ...

Re: Scanxiety and 2020

I am not doing very well today..... I get scanxiety worse than my poor dad who who has to go through with it. I know what you feel. I have General Anxiety disorder, and the unknown scares the crap out of me. Dad had a scan today (2 year as well). His last scan showed tiny (largest 3 or 4mm) nodules...

Re: Not tolerating Xeloda. Are there any options?

Your doctor knows best but i can share my experiences. My Father had the same trouble after 3 cycles. Eventually spent 12 days admitted in the hospital due to high grade diarrhea and nausea - hooked up to IVs and symptoms managed with Immodium and anti-emetics (No vomit as he couldn't even keep wate...

Re: Random Cough

Thank you for your reply. Yes I agree. We have an upcoming appointment, will aim to make it. The challenging part of COVID here where I am is you need a test to make it across to the city where the hospital is located and the testing schedules at the drive throughs are just fully packed. I dont Want...

Random Cough

Probably an over reaction here but need to get it out in the Universe. I noticed my Dad (65 post LAR, post ileo -reversal) had a small cough yesterday. I dont visit that oftern now due to Corona precaustions, but always keep an eye on him to notice any changes. it was not something loud, just like a...

Re: PET CT Small Nodules

Report in today, metabolically inactive across the lungs.

It was a full body scan and nothing unusual noted otherwise.

So relieved but also clear that this is something to keep an eye on over serial CTs.

Re: PET CT Small Nodules

He's had the test. Results in 2 days. Need a collective prayer please.

I'm someone who struggles with a lot of anxiety and I've been having a really hard time lately with work stress and a baby on the way.

Thought writing this out and putting it out in the universe may help

Re: PET CT Small Nodules
