Re: what brady has been doing (brain tumor)

Ditto to all the positive energy Brady and Sharon. Your strength has definitely been a big factor in my success. There are a lot of nurses at MGH watching The Colon Club now. i see the radiation oncologist on Monday next
Good luck to both of us, big guy!

Re: following in Brady's Brady's Footsteps

My neurosurgeon was in today and said he was able to get the entire tumor out - I'm impressed and apparently he was as well. My oncologist and chemo nurse came by and both said I look better than I have in weeks - it just keeps getting better. Justsing - I showed your picture to the folks here and t...

Re: Just how good is Avastin?

My 2 cewnts - Avastin worked for me. I was on Folfax for a few months and we addeds Avastin and there was a noticeable improvement in bot the results of scans and how i felt. I assume the improvement in how I felt was a result of redsuced cancer activity. I don't think it always works, but when it d...

Re: oxiplatin

I guess I was lucky that I only had the symptom during treatment. Dilaudid could be given through the IV and therefore was very effective once we discovered it. I contginued on Oxaliplatin until the cancer founf a way around it a few months later. It sounds like it may be the same cause but it is ce...

Re: Just began hospice

I recently lost a dear friend to breast cancer. She battled for years but finally took to hospice care. She was very glad that she did, as it allowed her to live out her final days in peace. I am sorry you are at this stage but I hope it works for you as well. There are lots of bad ways to go but I ...

Re: CEA Not True Marker for Me?

I'ved seen people with "normal" CEA that have lots of cancer and I've seen many with elevated CEA and no evidence of disease. The lowest my CEA has been is 136 and the highest was about 660. It has been a pretty good predictore of how I feel. The times I have been more fatigued and have ha...

Re: oxiplatin

In your original note you said you had pain in ther chest when you had the treatment. Just to be clear, was it during the infusion thast you experienced the pain or after the infusion was completed. The reasson I ask is that I for the last 6 months I was on Folfax I had severe joint paint durin the ...
