Re: Trial update - ATRIUM (ATG-018)

Ugh, ended up excluded from this trial (NCT05462236) after nearly a MONTH of screening) as my LDH was too high. Back, yet again, to the drawing board. Ahh Rob, gutted to hear that. Rechallenege with chemo? Just to tide over? It’s a pretty penny but I have the details of a human genetics specialist ...

...after nearly a MONTH of screening) as my LDH was too high. Sorry about that. What LDH did they consider too high (also normal lab range/UL=?) and how many days/weeks after IV vitamin C was it drawn? I actually don’t know what my final result was - getting that sent to me now. I had been off the ...

Re: Trial update - ATRIUM (ATG-018)

Sometimes it seems as if the doctors are a little too anxious NOT to treat us. My creatinine was outside the guidelines, but nih hydrated me for 2 days, ran the test and pulled me across the finish line, just barely. Not sure how egregious your ldh is, but I didn’t see it as an excluding criteria o...

Re: FDA investigates 'serious risk' of secondary cancer following CAR-T treatment

As a non-American I won’t comment on your last line, but I’m not aware of any conventional cancer treatment that doesn’t cause increased risk of secondary cancer. Of course something to be aware of, but I always say I’ll always take an effective treatment for the cancer I have a 100% chance of havin...

Re: What is your typical CT scan experience?

Funny coincidence - I had a CT this morning and they did a 4th pass - I asked the radiographer about it and he said it was a “delayed scan” done 3-4 mins after administering the contrast, as part of “triple phase imaging” of my liver (which the radiologist wanted apparently). Not sure if this helps ...

Re: What is your typical CT scan experience?

Indeed my experience is the same as yours - one quick pass pre-contrast, one during, and one after. However on balance I’d say it’s more likely that they didn’t get the image quality that they needed on the pass - perhaps there was some movement, or an issue with the machine etc. It’s unlikely (IMO)...

Re: Paranoid

If it helps, realistically there’s virtually no food or drink that you can eat that will materially impact the effectiveness of FOLFOX. Biochemically, food is like an ant on the road, and FOLFOX is like a Mack truck barrelling down the highway toward the ant. (Note supplements and meds are differen...

Re: Elevated liver enzymes!

Sorry, apparently I need to work on my reading comprehension! Makes sense that the trial has hard upper limits - that is indeed a pain. Still hopefully some modest schedule changes won’t be too impactful on outcomes. To your question, on resection my surgeon noted that parts of my liver were tinged ...

Re: Elevated liver enzymes!

Is it just ALT/AST? Because with respect, 100-230 on FOLFOX is nothing. My ALT got to about 850 and my onc didn’t slow or withhold any treatments - he said the “normal” ranges don’t apply for chemo patients, and if I got to >1000 he’d consider a dose reduction. My liver enzymes came down themselves ...

Re: Any Thought On NK Cell Therapy?

their PBT is very expensive, but you can always get that in the US). Japan, Korea, China and Europe have done some work with He4, C12, O16 ion beams. Might be an area of review for specialized situations, with different RBE and toxicity than protons, which were not considered especially effective f...
