Re: What to do for continuous anal pain

You’ve been through so much, and constant pain on top of everything else sounds brutal

Re: My Mom

Losing your mom after everything with your son feels unbearable. Please know you’re not alone, it’s okay to feel shattered, and it’s okay to lean on others. I’m here if you ever need to talk or just share a memory of her.

Re: Remind me about DNA tests.

It looks for tiny bits of cancer DNA floating in your blood so they can catch any changes even earlier than CEA. It’s not as routine as the CEA check yet, but more doctors are starting to use it for follow-up.

Re: What supplements to take during chemo?

If you're considering supplements during chemotherapy, vitamin D and green tea could be helpful, but it's important to consult your doctor first. In my opinion, it might be a good idea to try a cannabis prescription from Releaf, which helps many patients with pain and nausea.

Re: WOW is it ever quiet in here !!!

After 7 years of so many ups and downs, I find it better for my mental health to stay away from all things cancer-related, including this forum. I've accepted that we're in this for the (hopefully??) long term; stable periods split by intense crises... We're in a stable phase right now, so I try to...

Re: Lonsurf Experiences

Hi. My husband has finished four cycles of Lonsurf chemo. Tomorrow morning (yes, on a Sunday morning!) he is getting his first CAT scan since starting Lonsurf in January. I’m nervous. His CEA level is higher than it was back in December, but it may be due to a different infection that he currently ...

Re: The power of microbes

Yeah, I really liked how 5.1 connected fiber and calcium intake with actual shifts in gut bacteria, it made the prevention side feel super tangible

Re: Vitamins and chemo

I think more people should be talking about this. There’s growing evidence that vitamins like D3 and B6 can actually reduce chemo side effects without hurting treatment and might even help. But a lot of doctors still advise against them without pointing to actual studies. This breakdown really shift...

Re: Researching Laser Surgery Germany

Many thanks for sharing your journey with us. I love that you are considering things such as laser surgery –I have been told it helps in getting those nodules by directing the laser light accurately.

Re: APR, Stoma, Permanent Colostomy, Oh My!

[Posted this a couple of minutes ago on the STAGE IV thread, but re-posting in a new thread because of the ostomy angle. Enjoy!] So to keep it as short as possible, after my LUL lobectomy in July of ‘23, I worked back up to running 2-3 miles 4-5 times a week, with life otherwise normal. I knew, how...

Re: Anyone else struggling to live life normally?

This is totally fine as it may take time to recover from all that you have been through. I tried thinking that it is good to live for today and be afraid of that tomorrow. Perhaps discover things that make you happy or activities that make you enjoy life on the daily. Perhaps trying to change your c...

Re: Anyone else struggling to live life normally?

My mental health was a bit shattered. That's why I started taking CBD. Mamedica, the clinic where I'm subscribed, recommended it for my anxiety and stress.
So, if anyone wants to try, give it a go. But consult with your doctor first.

Hi all, I’ve wondered whether to post for a few weeks and have now decided that I want to. I sadly found out a few weeks ago via Facebook that Rob passed away. He was one of the first people I spoke to when I joined this forum. He was so kind, patient, considerate and knowledgable. He always took t...

I'm so sorry to hear about Sara's passing. She was an inspiration to us all with her bravery and strength during her CRC journey. I'll always remember her positivity and resilience, even in the toughest times.
