Oh Cindy I'm sorry what an ordeal your going through! I agree with the rest and see if you can set up appt. times for the docs to be in the room at the same time and have a list of questions ready. It sounds like you have to many docs not communicating with each other and if you have them together they will be able to make more of a collaborative decision. And get some of your answers done. They really need to find out if this perf. is healed before he becomes septic. He has a lot of symptoms of being septic already and that's not a good thing.

Your in my thoughts and prayers and I to will pray for wisdom for the docs.

cindy,
I'm sorry your discharge plans were changed but it sounds like he needs to be in the hospital....I agree with Terry, they need to start figuring something out and quickly....if it's surgery he needs, they will have to determine risk vs. benefit....even with high risk, a bowel perforation is not likely to heal on it's own and on it's own, left unrepaired, it will eventually cause more problems, including sepsis....but, if he still has a perforation in his bowel, taking po food (or being fed by dobhoff tube) is a poor choice...

I am thinking about you guys all the time, and sending strong positive thoughts, and praying for stephen....
Luv and hugs,
Karin

They're giving Stephan po food with the possibility that he still has a perf.? That just doesn't sound right to me!

I meant to tell you Cindy, the guy that's doing all of the screaming may have a brain injury, they do that quite often. I hope he's not in so much pain that he's screaming like that. I wouldn't think so, more like the brain injury or someone that is mentally disabled.

I'm praying right after I get off the computer for you guys. May the Lord take Stephan in his loving and healing hands and work a miracle for him and may he give you the strength you need to go through this wherever it leads you.
