If you want prayer stop in here!

Postby Terry » Wed Jan 20, 2010 11:38 am

I would love for people to see the work of God on this site. I'm praying for an outpouring of the holy spirit and the works of our Lord to be visible on this site for 2010. If you want to be prayed for there are many of us on this site that would love to pray with you and for you!

I'm usually quite reserved on this subject-- especially in a public forum. However, God definitely intervened in my life this past October. All the docs, I mean all of them, were at that time working on their strategies for my cancer recurrence. Talks of more chemo, salvage surgery, etc. The radiologist had observed the new 2x3cm mass which was not there on a previous scan, and concluded my "routine" scan as a cancer recurrence.

Two people very close to me said very special prayers for me. In each case, this led immediately to a sign that I would be healed. And I was. A followup biopsy weeks later came back negative for recurrence.

I'll chalk up the first cancer survival experience to modern medicine and a health care system that was excellent for me. I'll chalk up the experience on the "recurrence" to God watching over me. And be thankful for that.
CT guided biopsy on mass - still NED !!!
CT scan finds new 2x3cm mass on 10/09
APR surgery 11/07; NED thereafter

I believe that I am only here because of a miracle of God.To God be the Glory!
I pray for all of you here.
Phil 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything,by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving present your your requests to God.
Prayer changes things.
Phil 4:13 I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.
Jeremiah 29:11 ...plans for good and not disaster,to give you a future and a hope.
Gods plans not mine.
God is bigger than your cancer!

When your world is crashing down around you-TRUST HIM!
When what is unfolding doesn't make sense-TRUST HIM!
When you see no light at the end of the tunnel-TRUST HIM!
When silent tears spill down-TRUST HIM!
When the pain refuses to subside-TRUST HIM!
When your heart screams why?-TRUST HIM!
When you have more questions than answers-TRUST HIM!
When the devil tells you otherwise-TRUST HIM!
When it's the last thing you feel like doing-TRUST HIM!
When there's simply nothing else to do-TRUST HIM!

Requesting prayers as I go through this round of chemotherapy.
Thank you for your prayers.
God Bless,
Candy

I can't tell you how many times God has intervened in my life during my cancer journey. In the beginning, I was desperate and despondent - heck just hearing those words, 'You have cancer' is enough to drive anyone to despair. Maybe a week after I was diagnosed, my youngest, Erik, then barely 15, prayed for me one night and God spoke to him as plain as day and told him "your mom will be okay". Six months later, during a Mass at school, just before Christmas vacation, once again, God spoke to Erik and told him that I was going to be ok. There were some very special meanings to that Mass, the 'voice' that Erik heard, when Erik heard it, etc. but it's not important for this message. One time, when I was getting super frustrated because all the doctors kept telling me that the plan I wanted to do wouldn't work, wasn't 'standard of care', etc. I was praying and this phrase came to me ' daughter all is well'. I don't know about you, but I don't talk like that! God helped me through those first few months - I spent countless hours on the living room couch at 3AM talking to Him and praying to Him. He has NEVER let me down and has remained with me during each step that I have taken. It took a long time, more chemo than I had hoped for, a lot of frustration along the way, but I was able to have the surgery that I wanted. Many times during those nine months, frankly, I just wanted to give up - I didn't believe that anything would go my way! But I have always remembered and kept close to my heart those words that Erik heard. God doesn't lie, He doesn't deceive and He always keeps His word!

I will gladly accept prayers and pray for anyone else on this board who also wants some extra prayers said for them. I also posted many times on an online prayer site and had people praying for me and I have to tell you, it really felt good to know that random people in this world cared about me and were praying for me.

Prayers are very much welcomed and reciprocated.

I like this thread - it helps to know where the prayers are welcome to have it in a separate thread. :-)

If y'all don't mind, I'd like to include a young SBC Pastor named Scott Adams, age 34. His wife Heather is expecting their fourth son in March and Scott was dx'd with Stage IV cc just days before Christmas. They live in a small town in Ga. and their onc is making the decisions right now, it seems. Huge amounts of fluid are being drained almost weekly but no surgery yet. Please pray for this young family.

I am a firm believer in the power of prayers. I believe my success with my cancer is a direct result of all the people I knew praying for me and the many more I did not know who were praying for me.

I would also like to help in praying for any of those who wish to be included.

Terry, this is a wonderful idea. Can I help?

Yes, Lee you can help, absolutely, everyone on here can by bringing up the list of people on here and praying for them every day. My husband and daughter pray together before my husband goes to bed and I will have this post up and pray for each by name each night.

I have to give credit where credit is due. Papajedi (where are you?) suggested this post in a pm to me. He hasn't been around the past couple of days (I hope your alright) so I started the topic.

So, thanks papjedi for the wonderful idea!!!

God loves us all so much and he loves it when we pray to him. I really believe there will be power through prayer shown to all on this forum!

Praise be to God!
