CRguy invents new "Stage"

Postby CRguy » Fri Jan 08, 2010 4:42 pm

How about Stage 3.5 not Stage III (a,b,c) and not Stage IV, but Stage 3.5 ?

Here's how it works : it is a descriptive stage not a true diagnosis ( so we won't use Roman Numerals. )
Why ? Because when you do all your good follow up stuff...AND..they find "something" of interest, but don't have it nailed down, you are Stage 3.5 until the next actual diagnosis. Then you enter the CRC lottery to find out if you stay at III or go to IV

There, isn't that a fun game ?? I'll go first.

November Xrays/ultrasound showed some calcification in the chest -> do a CT.
December CT showed calcification is nothing, BUT...here's the first bonus round... found two different "things" to be checked on -> do a PET scan. Second bonus round..."urgent" PET scans will take 4-8 weeks. Third bonus round... the two different masses appear to be unrelated processes, so we could be seeing primaries or mets or both or neither !!!!

What a fun game. Since I am determined to keep my sense of humor about life's "joke on me" I will make sure I buy lots of lottery tickets, you know, so you win some and lose some, but you gotta KEEP playin' !!

Still on the journey but a few less Cheers today friends,
CRguy, Stage 3.5

Oh stuff and bother!

I was wondering how this whole thing was playing out, but hadn't heard any news, so figured you'd post when there was something to announce. So, we've got something old, something new, trouble borrowed and CRguy blue . . .

Lung stuff is just a big nuisance as far as I'm concerned. People live for years and years with shrapnel and all manner of crap in their lungs, so unless this new crap is doing something nasty, I say just ignore it. Easier said than done, I know. But it's amazing how quickly you can find your Zen and compartmentalize!

Sending you much commiseration, my fellow traveler!

Ok that is hilarious!

When you come out with the new and updated version, would you add in a square to go from Stage 4 to Stage 3.5?

Here is to hoping this round you win some....

Well, CR, let's hope it's nothing.

I like the 3.5 Stage idea. I think Skifletch might qualify for that one.

My personal motto has always been, "Win, lose or draw, I'm going to do it with a smile."

So keep smiling, my friend.

I say how about tons of bonus points for a great sense of humor, class, dignity and imagination in navigating these really exiting opportunities for personal growth and reflection (that's my motto for today--I try to make up a new one each day). Everyone gets to imagine how to use their bonus points, and every other day, and in months ending in "y" they double :)

I hope and pray for results that will add up to absolutely nothing for you. Best wishes.

I like that idea BB, now if I can just convince the Fiancee of that . I get to have Crguy's lottery on Tuesday with a PET scan. Good thing I know the radiologist doing the scan so I don't have to wait for results :)

Well CRguy, and fellow scan buddy....Since were scan buddies, I think yours will have to be nothing too! So the waiting has to be fun, 4 weeks for an urgent pet...wow.

I had a pet, that showed area of concern and went to a ct and was found to be "brain shrinkage" funny eh...

I do like the 3.5, or limbo stage.

praying for it to go back down to 3.

How are you feeling, any symptoms that are bothersome right now?

This doesn't sound like a fun game. I don't think I want to play anymore! So long as you're stuck in the game, I hope you win. I hope we all do, but I've heard this game doesn't always play fair.

I was told I was "stage three and a half" once, but it was right at the time of my diagnosis. It sucked!! CRguy, I hope you get back to regular old stage III soon!!!

Good thoughts coming your way.
