Hi, did a brief search on here about brown spots on toenail beds. Didn't find much.
Any advice on it? I was thinking maybe I should take collagen or something to prevent it getting worse and falling off or something. I'm not freaking out right now just want the jump on it if it could lead to something serious.

Is it on all your toe nails or just one or two?
If its only on one, you might want to get it checked by a dermatologist, because skin cancer can present itself that way.

Hi Ksue, I guess it looks more like if you had a splinter under your nail. There are 4 of them on my big toe and a few on toe next to baby toe. I have an appt coming up with an IM so will have him check it out to make sure its not skin cancer. Thank you for the info!

Hi Green tea, ya know since you brought it up I sent a pic of it to my friend who has had nail fungus. She said it looks like the start of it coming on or maybe an injury. I did trip coming up the stairs while trying to carry 2 cups of coffee, phone and some paperwork one day last week, smh. She recommended after I shower to put vicks vapor rub on it and wrap it with a bandaid or something. I did that tonight and will do it every day until it goes away or IM appt.
I looked at cancer pics and didn't see anything that would relate but doesn't mean anything. Honestly my first thought was its a side effect of xeloda. I am worried but not to worried right now it could be serious. But I do have very bad luck.

Actually, I agree with you about the Xeloda. I think that there is ample evidence that Xeloda weakens the nail beds of the toes and makes them very susceptible to injuries like toenail lifting. Once a toenail has been lifted up during injury then there is the possibility that bacteria and fungi can enter underneath and cause problems:
