And just as we were planning our trip to MSK, I got an email from them saying they are not accepting International patients due to the corona virus. Such bad timing! Hopefully it blows over soon.

Yeah it's pretty crazy. Like a dystopian science fiction novel. Cancer or corona virus is manageable. But both?? Hoping we don't get stuck in Denmark when we need to travel for treatment. Best wishes to your mum too! I'm sure she'll be staying at home too?

The speed of change is unsettling.
I took my mum out yesterday and got her food in for a while . A bit confined but her only thoughts are with people enduring treatment . It’s hard enough going through treatment without that added burden .

My husband is going to be on the frontline all suited and booted . Hose him down when he comes through the front door , and my youngest son is hoping he will be watching Netflix in bed !! What a bizarre time .
Denmark’s doing something right . We have similar numbers but had ten deaths .

Maybe it’s the safest place to be .

I think the big worry is the numbers today are not reflective of the true number of cases — which they predict is actually 20-100x of what’s reported today.

I didn’t want to subscribe to the panic but I did proactively stock up 2 weeks worth of food early this week. I wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t for my husband’s condition.

Tomorrow is the results of his scan 2 months after stopping oxaliplatin. He’s still on maintenance chemo but I’m just so worried I couldn’t sleep the past 3 nights! Hoping and praying for good news.

Wow, crazy times indeed. I hope you all are coping all right. In a way it feels like we (caregivers and patients) are freaking out LESS than the rest of the population, although we are the ones who actually have something to worry about. It's funny, I feel like the worst thing has already happened so there's not much that can really phase me anymore

Yesterday the Danish government announced that they are closing the borders today at noon. They are also urging all Danes to come home ASAP. For a second there I thought I might be denied entry, because technically I'm Swedish (after my mother) although I was born and raised in Denmark. But luckily you get to come home if you live or work in Denmark. Jesper wants to stay here till our planned return on Tuesday, so he gets all his scheduled oxygen treatment. It helps him a lot with chemo side effects so I don't blame him! I think we'll just take it day by day.

Hope you got home safely . Thinking of everyone and hope your keeping your heads above water with all the chaos going on around us .
Mum has used her same strategy she used with cancer on her social isolation . An initial gasp at the enormity of it but quickly aligned to accepting it for the greater good of the more vulnerable in our community.
Hope you are all staying strong and take special care .
