If a stoma gets fitted for total bypass of tumor

Postby Wigmasters11 » Wed Feb 05, 2020 12:27 pm

My question is what happens to a colon tumor when a stoma is permanently connected ...
The tumor was left in ... can it still grow ? Can it still spread? Can it still effect the liver or can it no longer get there ? My husband has just had this done until the chemo clears his liver tumors ...so far treatment has cleared 60% of liver so its working ...I'm still not clear thanks for any answers...

If the tumor is still there it can still grow. Or shrink. Hopefully the chemo will shrink it as well as his liver mets. Great that the chemo is working on his liver.

What was the rationale for not removing the tumor if they were going to do stoma surgery anyway?
