Generic Zophran films

Postby DarknessEmbraced » Sat Dec 14, 2019 1:24 pm

My doctor recently prescribed generic zophran films which dissolve on the tongue for the nausea I get. The ginger chews didn't help today so I took a film. I get a lot of nausea with my stomach issues, when I have ischemic colitis attacks and when I have migraines. I have never taken generic zophran films before so I don't know how they will affect me. So far it seems to be helping. It's 4mg every 8 hours as needed. Has anyone ever had any issue with the films or generic zophran or zophran in general? I know I was given iv gravol when hospitalized after my colon resection because the anesthesia made me extremely nauseous. I may have had iv zophran but I'm not certain.

HI,
I used generic Zofran (ondansetron 8mg tablets) when I was on Folfox. I didn't have any issues with it, and it did keep my nausea in check. I only needed to take about 3 or 4 pills, for each cycle of Folfox, so I may not be a good example.

Thank you annieliz. :) I'm glad it helped you. It helped my nausea but I don't want to take it that often because I worry about it causing constipation.

I had Zofran (ondansetron 8 mg oral) and a low dose of dexamethasone (2 mg oral) because I had very little issue with nausea for FOLFOX.
I ended up using Restoralax as discussed in the following topic, to control constipation issues.

Thank you CRguy. I'm glad it helped you!*hugs* Unfortunately, I can't use any medications for constipation or diarrhea. Medications for constipation give me severe cramping and severe diarrhea even at the smallest dose. If I take immodium I will be constipated for a week. I have to eat vegetables I can tolerate, high fiber cereal such as frosted mini wheats raisin bran. I'm in an asthma flare due a virus so I'm on 40mg of prednisone for 7 days. Prednisone usually doesn't mess my stomach up too badly as long as I take it with food.
