Did my first at home disconnect today.

Postby AmyG » Wed Nov 27, 2019 9:42 pm

Cycle 11, they held the oxiliplatin so I didn't need to drive 2 hours to the hospital for disconnect from the 5fu and get an on body injector!

It was super easy. No problems at all.

In other news, my hair is falling out by the handfuls again and it's really bothering me this time. :( It had finally started to grow back, about an inch long and I can already set the patchy spots. Looks like I'll probably have to shave it again. Lame.

But, last cycle is 12/9 so there's an end in sight!!

You guys have a happy Thanksgiving.

Congratulations on getting to almost the end of treatment, that is a major milestone. I had to disconnect once. Actually it was on Thanksgiving Day about 15 yrs ago. I did not want to delay treatment due to the holidays.

My hair did get thin, but never really lost it all. It was supper frizzie though. It was about 6 months out from treatment when my hairdresser cut it all off. It was easy to see where the frizzie ended. Hairdresser just cut above the frizzie. It will get better.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

Yay, you're almost done!! So happy for you, and only slightly jealous. Lol!

Jesper always disconnects his own 5FU pump and we live 15 minutes away from the hospital. I can't believe you had to drive all that way just to get it disconnected every time!

I understand the hair issue. I don't think I'd deal too well with losing my hair. But yes, it will be back!
