From my room, the flight wiped me out and I’m sporting a cathedar now due to urinary retention. I’ll get this figured out and have a fun trip. Disney on Oahu.

I would like to start a new thread where members can post images and/or share stories of their special place, special friend, special event or activity that help us forget, however briefly, the affects of CRC on our and our families lives.
mob

Hi Everyone,

Don't have a picture to share, maybe one of these days. Thought I would fill in my last few months. Dear Hubby ended up in the hospital over the 4th of July. Was in for 5 days, he's doing much better now. He kept me busy for most of July. August and a few weeks in September were months away from home. Started August in Pensacola, FL to see father in law. He's going pretty good, but getting older. He just turned 93. Maybe going to see him in a few month. He's at a wonderful place, but they may be moving him from independent living to assisted living. Will help sister in law with the move and clearing out his current apartment.

My brother has a beach house on the Outer Banks. We were there a few weeks after our Florida trip. We were suppose to be on the island for a week with a few days at both weekends to see, vacation and explore North Carolina. Dorian cut our time at the beach house short. The good news, my brother place is about 100 miles north of where it hit land, butt we all boarded up the house just in case. DH and I were there until Wednesday. Guess it's not the hurricane that is the problem, rather the possible flooding. And if you don't have 4 wheel drive, leave the island. We heeded the advice.

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. We did and had a wonderful time. No interstate for us, just the back roads, One of the restaurants we ate at was local mom and pop. Everyone knew we were not from around there and owner kept bring us different things to try, yum!!! She gave me a hug on the way out. When the hurricane was coming ashore we were mostly inland, got a motel, but had to accept we could lose power, lights, etc if storm got bad enough. Hey we had 4 walls, roof, and a door, all good. Guess some people saw a few tornados. We were eating at a local restaurant when it was raining cats and dogs, at least for me. Waitress said, this is nothing, wait until a hurricane comes through, then it get exciting. Hum, no thank you

North Carolina is a beautiful state with a lot of southern charm, and the BBQ is to die for. We had a wonderful trip. Gotta figure out this picture thing.

September has just been busy. A good friend's dad just passed away at 88, will be helping her shortly with his place. Will be catching on this thread tomorrow or the next day. Hope everyone is doing well.

Lee

Lee, been meaning to get on here to comment & thank you for sharing your story & adventure! Included mob's reminder above that this thread was not created just for pictures! Noticed you had been MIA for awhile, but not exactly storm chasing, rather escaping
I've been to South Carolina (noticed lots of red-brick houses) & Georgia quite a few years back.

When the hurricane was coming ashore we were mostly inland, got a motel, but had to accept we could lose power, lights, etc if storm got bad enough. Hey we had 4 walls, roof, and a door, all good.

I'm w/you on that one :P

Glad all turned out well in the end.

Did take a short road trip myself (& son), kinda a Ma Barker/Chevy Chase combo adventure (more pics coming). Busy addressing some health issues & more on the horizon re: Miss Chloe.

Pyro, Nothing quite as colorful as anything Disney! WOW

Photo taken last week. Two of my childhood friends flew in to Amsterdam to spend the weekend with us. Thankful to have them in our lives.

Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might...
Have this wish I wish tonight.

Been awhile folks. Extremely preoccupied & not in a good way.
Full-on caregiver mode...yet again.
Only this time, for my little furbaby princess, Miss Chloe.
Those of you who know me = no difference.
Caregiving is caregiving. It all comes from the heart AND...
you either have it or you don't.
I have it...
