Do you have experience with CareOncology.com?

Postby Peridot1 » Tue Oct 01, 2019 2:26 pm

This company says it developed a multi-targeted adjunctive therapy for cancer. It repurposes drugs that are approved in other indications to be used to target and slow down growth of cancer, to work together in a complementary way against cancer and enhance the activity of standard of care treatments. Since FOLFOX and FOLFIRI failed to work for me, I am looking for other drugs and treatments to work with and help conventional (eg. chemo, radiation, surgery, etc.) or alternative (eg. diet, exercise, supplements) treatments. Greatly appreciate your insights/thoughts/experiences. Thank you.

I think that's the same thing another member, TinaFish, signed up with. They put her on a number of drugs that, combined with chemo, gave her violently bad diarrhea, amongst other things.

Honestly, I had the impression that they suggest a grab bag of drugs, each one addressing a theoretical way to attack cancer, whether or not they had been studied either separately or together for actual efficacy. But I am neither a scientist nor a doctor.

I have been on the care oncology protocol for just over 2 years, and against the odds became NED about 20 months ago. I started the regime after my second recurrence, I had little/no response to my first line chemo and was diagnosed with multiple mets, and I credit the Care Oncology protocol with helping me get to NED and keeping me there. I know a number of other people in the UK who use the protocol and have also had similar results.

I'm happy to answer questions about it, but tag me if you do as I don't come on the site often anymore

If you are interested in hearing from a big number of people using the COC protocol and other repurposed drugs, I suggest joining the Facebook group “repurposed drugs for cancer”. I have been in this group for a few years and have learned a lot. The discussions
Are generally based on science and not speculation and many references are provided. Most of the members have CRC
Dx 12/2014 T3N2MX (distant LPLN) low rectal
12/2014-4/2015: FOLFOX (8 cycles)
4/2015-6/2015: 28 cycles of chemoradiation with xeloda, SBRT
8/2015: Robotic APR with iliac node dissection; path showed ypT0,ypN0 (complete pathological response).
11/2015 scans clear, CEA 2.1
11/2015 parastomal hernia repair
3/2016 CEA 1.7, scans stable...
6/2020 5 years of normal CEA and stable scans
Now dealing with pyoderma gangrenosum.
Totally disabled due to oxaliplatin induced neuropathy and dysautonomia

The standard treatment is a 4-drug cocktail mentioned in the post below. Doses of these 4 drugs are customized per patient. Please note that none of these drugs were approved originally for treating any kind of cancer.

Thanks, Jacques. Sounds very interesting but also not well supported by the establishment in the US.

I look forward to reading more about it here in the archives.
