Hi all,
I’ve asked this question on an ostomy forum too, but given there’s no doubt a number of ostomates here I thought I might cast a wider net for ideas!
I have a temporary ileostomy. My ULAR was done robotically and most of the small wounds have healed well. However there is one wound quite close to my stoma, so it is underneath the adhesive. Whenever I change the bag, removing it reopens the wound so it refuses to heal. If I put anything bigger than a steri-strip on it, I’m worried it will compromise the seal and I’ll have a leak.
So - does anyone have any advice for healing wounds underneath the adhesive? Ideally I’d love some way to protect it while it heals, without compromising the seal. I’m restarting chemo tomorrow and would prefer not to have a permanent hole in my abdomen
Thanks,
Rob
