Hi Amy,
From my experience colorectal chemo therapy seem to go hand in hand with gall bladder problems. I have never been a good subject for ultrasound ( built like a brick toilet) . I was checked several time in the years following my cancer treatment with no positive results . Then a little black cholesterol gallstone popped out of my gall bladder and blocked my pancreatic duct.
I had my gallbladder removed via keyhole surgery . It was full of sludge and small black stones. They flushed the stone out of my duct with bags of saline and high oxygen . (not sure how that works) Since surgery I have suffered from bile salt malabsorbtion and related diahorrea . I use stuff called cholestramine to counteract it .(questran lite) . Gall problems are very unpleasant and painful. Hope you can get some relief, Ron.

Thanks Ron! That's helpful. I'm about willing to bet it's full of sludge. CT reported no stones, just distended.

I don't need any stinking gallbladder! I'm already minus a sigmoid colon, that that too!

After consulting the oracle of Walt Disney's America
published 1965 by Walt Disney Productions and listening carefully as per Dr Wiliam Osler's maxim
Just listen to your patient, he is telling you the diagnosis, I suspect you might be
suffering from hydrophobia.

The Old Yeller clue gave it away.

From page 98-99 of the Oracle

Sanderson told Travis there were many animals around with a sickness called hydrophobia
"How Can you tell if they got it?" asked Travis.

"They go crazy before they die. Watch for foam at the mouth. If some animal comes at
you, shoot quick. If it gets one bite at you, you'll get the sickness. And then no one can
help you."

Travis didn't have much chance to worry about hydrophobia, for it was hog-marking time.

Suggest you put in a call to Atticus Finch.

Hmm. After carefully reviewing your diagnosis I've decided to go with Monty Python's Black Knight and declare

TIS BUT A SCRATCH!!
