Cycle 3 is finished!

Postby AmyG » Sat Jun 01, 2019 2:23 pm

So, this has been super easy so far. No real issues at all, I still have hair but it's really thinned. No vomiting or any GI issues. Fatigue after disconnect bit that has only lasted a day or two. Food won't taste right until probably Tuesday, but it's not awful.

Cycle 4 will be my last one with Avastin, as cycles 5 and 6 will be without in preparation for liver resection. I'll have a CT scan after cycle six, so that's mid July to see what my liver looks like.

Assuming all that goes well, I've forgot what happens after resection but I know it's more chemo. I just can't remember the specifics! One cycle at a time.

Edit!
I forgot to mention I've had neulasta twice. We're bfs. Brought my ANC up from 1 something to 4 something last go round. Zero side effects as long as I stay on Claritin. Missed two doses last time and the bone pain was horrid. Claritin fixed it though!

I want to say it was six months of chemo after resection? I can't remember much though, just taking everything as it comes.

I know that I will have the option to go to a closer infusion center, so that's a plus! I'll take a 45 minute drive over a two hour one.

Nicholas is such a joy. He's mommy's little sunshine boy. Well, there's not much little about him now!! He'll be 3 months old on the 15th. He was over 12.5 pounds at his 2 month appointment so I'm sure we're close to 14 or 15 pounds now.

At my last infusion, this woman with melanoma was telling me about her 1 year old that was 17 pounds! She too had found out she had cancer while she was pregnant and delivered 6 weeks early. I'm am just so very blessed that we went to term.

My big boy smiles and coos at me, rarely cries and when he does it's pretty easy to figure out why. Feed me, change me, rock me to sleep. He's the most laid back little dude. Reminds me a lot of my oldest son. Such an easy baby. He sleeps well in the night, only getting up once to eat.

When he looks at me and smiles, his whole face lights up and I just melt in to a puddle of goo. I love this boy so much and his sisters just can't get enough of him. The 4 and 2 year old are constantly trying to find ways to help. It's adorable!

I pretty much love every single minute of my life because of these kids and my sweet husband. :D
