That’s great! CAn I ask what limitations you have in terms of activity with the pump? I’m a fitness instructor/yoga teacher and am concerned that I won’t be able to keep my job if I get the HAI pump.

Dr K says no contact sports and no jogging. The surgeons are less restrictive in their recommendations if you are fit, I know several pump patients who say they run.

I was a competitive runner and also hiked and did rock climbing before I got the pump. I was allowed to run as long as I wore "supportive garments" (like compression running tights) to support the pump and agreed to go more slowly. However, I discussed all this with my oncologist and surgeon prior to having the pump implanted. The surgeon then implanted the pump a bit deeper so it wouldn't shift around when I worked out/ran. It helped that I was very fit prior to the surgery.

I had to avoid contact sports (like volleyball), scuba diving, and hot tubs. I would think yoga would be fine, but it's always best to check with the docs first.

I have never really considered "hot tubbing" as a contact sport
