Hi,
This is the post I would have loved to read six years ago. I had Stage 2 rectal dx in 2011, LAR, radiation and chemo, and a year-and-a-half later metastasis to liver. I went to see Dr. Kemeny at Sloan-Kettering (thanks to the wonderful users of this site) and had liver resection and hepatic pump installed. This past weekend my chemo port and hepatic pump were removed because my oncologists and surgeon feel the cancer is gone for good. I realize many on this Board are not going to have the same outcome and that gives me great pain-- just as well could have been me. I want to give hope to the newly diagnosed however because when I heard "liver met," I thought I was looking at the end of my life. Love and gratitude to all.

Another HAI pump success story! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE hearing these. This is why we switched to MSK recently and will be having a surgery/pump placement March 7th. Will keep everyone posted!

WOOO-HOOO!!! HIGH FIVE, Jane!!! I remember you were part of the original pump gang.
I'm due to have my HAI pump and medi-port removed in a few weeks too. My case was a little more complicated than yours (tumors in all lobes of my liver plus in both lungs), but here we both are, Stage 4's who have defied the odds thanks to the pump.
I wish you a long, happy, and healthy life!

Yes we are working with Dr Kemeny. I'm actually at 55th Street waiting for my CT scan now! Next a consult with Dr Kingham and then Dr Kemeny this afternoon. It will feel good to get a little more clarity on what the next few weeks / months will hold.
