AmyG, glad you and your doctor have have a plan on the baby being induced. It sounds like you are comfortable with 34 weeks and your doctor is on board. Congrats for that! Question: how did the spot on your liver originally get diagnosed? Was it during the resection? My doctor wants to do follow up flexoid sig tests, but I've ready some liver spots are only detected by sonogram. Just trying to gather information to ask my doctor about. Thank you.

The day I had my surgical consult for my bowel resection, they did an ultrasound of my liver to check for any spots. One was found and noted, was set for biopsy during my surgery.

However, once they were in there they couldn't get to it, meaning it wasn't on the surface of the liver. I had 18 lymphnodes examined and all were cancer free so the liver issue was thought to be something benign, but was always going to be looked at to rule out metastatic issues.

MRI deemed it suspicious, biopsy confirmed it.

It was super easy to see via ultrasound the first time in the surgeon's office, the MRI and during the biopsy.

AmyG, thanks so much for the info. I am going to request/demand a ultrasound for my liver. This whole time I thought the MRI looked at my liver, and after reading the MRI report for the 100th time I learned it didn't.

Best wishes on your marathon and your baby; keep us posted!

Oh you are so welcome!!

I'm waiting on an appointment for another ultrasound to check the status of my spot, so it's a totally appropriate way to find something and measure it. MRI can rule out lots of things but as far as I know, a biopsy is the only way to be sure if something is or isn't malignant.

Hope it all works out for you!

Sorry for the spelling . That version is actually a place in Scotland!

You sound perfect for it .

Run a marathon ... pose for a photo ! You would have it done and dusted by lunchtime.
