Colonoscopy Tomorrow - Anxious

Postby Serottab1kr » Wed Nov 28, 2018 2:05 am

I know its a story repeated on this forum too many times. Week or so of blood, dr’s appt, surgeon’s appt, and then urgent scheduled colonoscopy. I’m 54 and my dad died from colon cancer and my mom lung cancer. Anxious, anxious, anxious.

For the last week, I’ve been reading and rereading the posts on this forum. Thank you all for posting, caring, providing insight, sharing stories, your time etc. It’s given me comfort.

As a side note, prepokik was much more tolerable for me than moveprep. In days before, white bread and white rice with a lot of fluids was helpful. Tucks are good too.

Sorry for the reason you're here and hoping you receive some good pathology results! Waiting is the worst - I think everyone on this site can sympathise with the anxiety of waiting.

Thank you all. After a couple of nervous days and I called the dr’s office and was told the dr would call me. Great news - the biopsy’s all came back negative! I’m so happy and relieved and really, really apprieciate the support from the forum members.

One interesting note, the prepopik didn’t work so well and he could only visualize the bottom third of my colon. The dr thought that was enough and did plenty of biopsies. He did not give me a 3 day diet in advance, which seems like a good idea.

I’ve made a donation to the Colon Cancer Alliance. How else can I help the cause?
