Good news

Postby child#6 » Tue Jul 31, 2018 12:56 pm

We had a visit with the oncologist yesterday. My husband's stage 2 colon cancer will not require any chemo. He has no risk factors. It's blood work, scans and colonoscopies. Colonoscopies can be no more than 3 years apart, Dr. prefers it be closer to two years.

I'm happy for you that you don't have to do any treatments. Do make sure you have a good surveillance schedule set up though, it's very important even in stage II!

Yes we have a good surveillance schedule. Following the NCCN guidelines, but a little bit tighter.

I hope we can proceed with life but we were informed that my husband is very likely Lynch positive so we don't really know. In my research on such I found that he is much more susceptible to brain, skin and liver and lung Ca. Only time will tell, but we take each day as it comes together.
