Liver spot - abnormal PET

Postby heiders33 » Mon Aug 06, 2018 7:09 pm

I found out this morning that my liver spot lit up on the PET scan, so I’m scheduled to meet with a surgeon specializing in surgical oncology next Friday. I’m assuming the next thing is a biopsy to confirm. This is disappointing and feels never ending, but I’m just going to research my options and do the next right thing. If anyone else has been in this situation (liver spot that shows up after chemo), please let me know!

Hi ,
Just realised that your liver met is only one cm . That is a very small spread indeed . There will hopefully be lots of options for you and you can quickly put this behind you .

I keep feeling little twinges in the general area of my liver, and I’m not sure if they’re real or if I’m just imagining things! I’m kind of on pins and needles until I can meet with my oncologist and surgeon on Monday. Also I think I will get a second opinion at MSK.

I m sorry you are going through this. As you know, meeting with the doctors and having a plan always seems to calm our nerves. Praying for a good appointment Monday with your oncologist. Hugs coming your way.

Good luck on Monday. Fingers crossed for you!

I think a second opinion at MSK is a good idea, especially with "inconclusive" findings and if you aren't currently a patient at a top tier Cancer Center.
